Travel: Required periodically to Southern ranch operations and Colorado property

Overview
We are seeking a Custom Finish Carpenter with deep experience and appreciation for traditional Japanese woodworking techniques to join our high-caliber contracting team. This is a rare opportunity for a passionate and skilled craftsperson to take on a dynamic role in delivering high-end residential and bespoke internal projects. The ideal candidate brings a mastery of fine woodworking, innovation in design problem-solving, and a dedication to excellence in every cut, join, and finish.
Key Responsibilities
- Full-Scope Carpentry Execution:
Lead the creation and implementation of custom woodworking projects from blueprint to installation, including:- Precision cabinet fabrication and installation
- Door framing and installation
- Intricate trim work, paneling, and architectural detailing
- Versatile carpentry tasks across varied environments and styles
- Quality and Craftsmanship:
- Produce work of exceptional precision, finish, and structural integrity
- Apply Japanese joinery techniques such as mortise and tenon, dovetail, and other fastener-free methods
- Collaboration and Independence:
- Function effectively in both solo and team-driven settings
- Partner closely with design, operations, and property teams to execute custom interiors and furniture solutions
- Creative Problem Solving:
- Tackle unique design and structural challenges with innovation and expert-level insight
- Adapt to evolving project scopes and environments with professionalism and technical skill
- Workspace Stewardship:
- Maintain a clean, efficient, and safety-compliant workshop and jobsite presence
Qualifications
- Minimum 10+ years of professional woodworking/carpentry experience, with a portfolio highlighting bespoke work
- Expertise in Japanese carpentry methods-especially traditional joinery and woodworking without nails or screws
- Mastery of woodshop machinery, hand tools, and all safety protocols
- Strong design interpretation and technical drawing comprehension
- Ability to visualize and execute complex builds with minimal supervision
- Excellent time management, communication, and client-interfacing skills
- Willingness to relocate to Gillette, Wyoming and travel as needed for project installations
