Purpose:

The Director of Financial Planning, Analysis, & Management Reporting leads Zeon Chemicals Inc. (ZCI) financial planning, forecasting, and management reporting functions, ensuring accurate and timely reporting to support strategic decision making. This role also oversees the accounting, reporting, and compliance of ZCI subsidiary, Zeon Specialty Materials (ZSM). This role provides financial insights to senior and executive leadership. The Director will manage a team of finance professionals and collaborate cross-functionally to drive financial performance and operational efficiency.

Job Functions/Accountabilities:

Financial Planning & Analysis

  • Lead the development and presentation of annual budgets, long-range financial plans, and periodic forecasts (income statement, balance sheet, and cash flow).
  • Lead analysis of monthly financial results and provide actionable insights to executive leadership.
  • Coordinate and consolidate financial plans across departments and business units.

Reporting

  • Oversee the preparation of all ZCI companies internal management reports, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timeliness.
  • Oversee the monthly accounting closing for ZSM, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timeliness.
  • Manage the preparation of ZSM’s quarterly reporting package and support quarterly reviews and annual audits as applicable.
  • Collaborate with Internal Audit on ZSM’s implementation of Japanese Sarbanes-Oxley, including completion of documentation and effective design and operation of key controls to ensure compliance with parent company’s public regulations in Japan.
  • Ensure overall compliance with accounting standards and internal controls.

Business Support & Strategic Analysis

  • Collaborate closely with the Director of Corporate Accounting, Consolidation & Financial Reporting
  • Partner with business leaders to evaluate the financial impact of operational decisions, pricing strategies, and capital investments.
  • Lead ad hoc financial analysis and provide recommendations for business development, innovation initiatives, and cost optimization.
  • Serve as a key resource for economic evaluations of acquisitions, divestitures, and new product introductions.
  • Lead corporate insurance program for all ZCI companies.

Systems & Process Improvement

  • Collaborate with IT to enhance financial systems and reporting tools, including SAP and Business Intelligence platforms.
  • Drive continuous improvement in financial processes, reporting accuracy, and data accessibility.
  • Lead Financial Data Analyst to become an SAP Analytics Cloud and Microsoft Power BI super user, enabling them to independently design, build, and maintain dashboards and reports that enhance business decision.

Leadership & Team Development

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of finance and accounting professionals, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Establish performance goals, conduct evaluations, and support professional development to build a high-performing team.

Qualifications:

Education and Certifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required.
  • MBA and/or CPA strongly preferred.

Experience:

  • Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in accounting, auditing, or financial planning and analysis.
  • Demonstrated experience managing teams and leading cross-functional initiatives.
  • Strong background in accounting principles, financial systems (SAP), and business intelligence tools (e.g., Power BI).
