Job Purpose

This Director of Sales is responsible for all sales and Customer relationships for assigned territories including managing any HondaJet Dealers and Authorized Sales Reps (ASRs) in his/her territories. Additionally, this position has accountability for arranging demo flights, hosting marketing events/factory tours, certified pre-owned and used aircraft sales in their territories and as assigned. As Honda Aircraft Co. ramps up for sales of the new Echelon jet, it is anticipated that this role will also be responsible for Echelon sales also.

Key Accountabilities

  1. Selling HondaJets in assigned territories including managing ASR and dealer relationships
  2. Developing owner and prospective customer relationships to manage new aircraft and pre-owned aircraft sales opportunity pipeline
  3. Creating deal analyses, market analyses, proposals, and Customer briefings for senior management review and decisions proactively
  4. Organizing and participating in Customer events/demos in assigned territories
  5. Traveling to attend regional and national marketing events, visit dealer and ASRs, and meet with prospective customers within an assigned region or at the factory in Greensboro, NC
  6. Developing market forecasts for the region and presenting metrics to senior management.
  7. Provide response to sales inquiries and assigned Customer matters as required
  8. Following up on direct sales opportunities as required.

Qualifications and Experience

  1. Bachelor’s degree required; Masters or MBA or equivalent preferred.
  2. 5-10 years of experience in aviation business development or sales. Previous experience with an emphasis on business aircraft preferred
  3. Previous aircraft sales experience preferred.
  4. Turbine pilot experience preferred, Hondajet experience a positive but not required

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  1. Detailed knowledge of warranties, service plans, aircraft performance, aircraft tax implications, international sales, financial analysis, aircraft maintenance and other facets related to the sales and servicing of aircraft is required.
  2. Strong knowledge and background experience with CRM systems including tracking lead development, sales campaigns and establishing metrics is preferred.
  3. Thorough understanding of the aircraft and/or heavy equipment sales cycle.
  4. Strong program management, analytical and assessment skills are required.
  5. Strong presentation building and spreadsheet skills are required.
  6. Demonstrated leadership and strong negotiation skills are required.
  7. Proficiency in MS Office products (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel)
  8. Ability to communicate effectively and develop relationships internally and externally.
  9. Ability to speak, read and write in English is required.
  10. Ability to speak, read and write either Spanish or Japanese is a plus

Working Conditions

  1. Incumbents may be routinely exposed to equipment operational noise heat-cold-dust, and/or aircraft equipment, parts, or fuel odors.
  2. Incumbents may be required to stand, sit, squat, walk, bend, climb ladders, move, reach, or stretch for prolonged time periods with no restrictions, as required by job duties.
  3. Work in a safe and professional manner while adhering to all regulatory requirements (FAA, OSHA, DOT, EPA, State, and Federal regulations, etc.).
  4. Read, hear, speak, and see with no restrictions, as required by job duties.
  5. Comprehend and adhere to management directions and/or safety instructions with no restrictions.
  6. Effectively communicate in Business English language.
  7. Pull, push, carry, lift, or move items up to 10 lbs. throughout the work shift without assistance, as required by job duties.
  8. Pull, push, carry, lift or move materials/people/items/equipment weighing up to 50lbs or more during the work shift, with the use of Company provided “reach assistance technology” or “movement assist technology” (fork-lifts, pallet jacks, pulleys, dolly’s, robotics reach equipment, people movers etc.), as required by job duties.
