The approximate date of this internship is June 2026 to January 2027, located in Orlando, FL.

What You Will Do

  • Collaborate with other contributing disciplines to achieve project goals
  • Assist in the research and exploration of new technologies for character entertainment
  • Support the development and testing of hardware and software prototypes
  • Help prepare documentation, presentations, and technical packets
  • Contribute to the organization and sustainment of internal databases and file systems
  • Shadow and collaborate with engineers and designers on active projects
  • Assist in sourcing components and materials for development and production
  • Support the team in maintaining and updating bill of materials (BOMs)

Required Qualifications & Skills:

  • Coursework or hands-on experience in electrical engineering, software development, mechatronics, or related fields
  • Familiarity with programming languages such as C, C++, Python
  • Interest in control systems, robotics, or interactive technologies
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to work in a team-oriented, creative environment
  • Willingness to learn and take initiative

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Exposure to embedded systems, motor controllers, or robotics is a plus
  • Experience with tools such as VS Code, KiCad, Fusion 360, SolidWorks
  • Familiarity with Git workflows
  • Interest in costume construction, technical documentation, or entertainment technology
  • Multilingual skills (French, Spanish, Japanese, Mandarin) are a plus

Education:

  • Senior or Graduate student currently pursuing a degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Computer Science, or a related technical or entertainment discipline.

Eligibility Requirements & Program Information

Candidates for this opportunity MUST meet all the requirements below:

  • Be enrolled in an accredited college/university, taking at least one class at the time of application posting, OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Internship.
  • Be at least 18 years of age
  • Possess unrestricted work authorization
  • Possess a valid US driver’s license and have the ability to operate a company vehicle
  • Have not completed one year of continual employment on a Disney internship or Disney College Program
  • Able to have a consistent, reliable work schedule throughout the internship

The pay rate for this role in Orlando, FL is $18.75 per hour.
