The approximate date of this internship is June 2026 to January 2027, located in Orlando, FL.
What You Will Do
- Collaborate with other contributing disciplines to achieve project goals
- Assist in the research and exploration of new technologies for character entertainment
- Support the development and testing of hardware and software prototypes
- Help prepare documentation, presentations, and technical packets
- Contribute to the organization and sustainment of internal databases and file systems
- Shadow and collaborate with engineers and designers on active projects
- Assist in sourcing components and materials for development and production
- Support the team in maintaining and updating bill of materials (BOMs)
Required Qualifications & Skills:
- Coursework or hands-on experience in electrical engineering, software development, mechatronics, or related fields
- Familiarity with programming languages such as C, C++, Python
- Interest in control systems, robotics, or interactive technologies
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Ability to work in a team-oriented, creative environment
- Willingness to learn and take initiative
Preferred Qualifications:
- Exposure to embedded systems, motor controllers, or robotics is a plus
- Experience with tools such as VS Code, KiCad, Fusion 360, SolidWorks
- Familiarity with Git workflows
- Interest in costume construction, technical documentation, or entertainment technology
- Multilingual skills (French, Spanish, Japanese, Mandarin) are a plus
Education:
- Senior or Graduate student currently pursuing a degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Computer Science, or a related technical or entertainment discipline.
Eligibility Requirements & Program Information
Candidates for this opportunity MUST meet all the requirements below:
- Be enrolled in an accredited college/university, taking at least one class at the time of application posting, OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Internship.
- Be at least 18 years of age
- Possess unrestricted work authorization
- Possess a valid US driver’s license and have the ability to operate a company vehicle
- Have not completed one year of continual employment on a Disney internship or Disney College Program
- Able to have a consistent, reliable work schedule throughout the internship

- Able to provide reliable transportation to/from work
- Must be fully available for the duration of the internship

The pay rate for this role in Orlando, FL is $18.75 per hour.
