Position Summary

Sony Honda Mobility of America (SHMA) is seeking an EV Sales & Customer Engagement Specialist to play a pivotal role in guiding customers through the AFEELA ownership journey. This role blends sales expertise with relationship management, ensuring every customer interaction-from first inquiry to long-term ownership-is seamless, personalized, and aligned with SHMA’s premium EV brand experience.

In the first few months, this position will require frequent travel across California (San Francisco, San Diego, Beverly Hills, and beyond) to support customer engagement events, product demonstrations, and one-on-one appointments. You will act as both sales advisor and brand ambassador, delivering unforgettable experiences that drive purchase decisions and long-term loyalty.

Job Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for prospective and existing AFEELA customers, ensuring a smooth and premium experience from inquiry through post-purchase.
  • Conduct personalized product presentations, test drives, and demonstrations to showcase AFEELA’s design, technology, and performance.
  • Manage the full sales lifecycle, including lead generation, needs assessment, negotiation, purchase coordination, and vehicle delivery.
  • Provide onboarding support and maintain engagement after delivery, including customer check-ins, service coordination, and participation in exclusive brand events.
  • Represent SHMA at launch events, retail activations, and pop-up experiences, building market awareness and strengthening brand connections.
  • Track sales activities, customer interactions, and engagement metrics in SHMA’s CRM system to ensure accurate reporting and follow-up.
  • Capture customer feedback and market insights to inform product development, sales strategies, and marketing campaigns.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Marketing, Delivery, Service, and Product teams to ensure brand consistency and a best-in-class experience.

Required Qualifications for Position

  • 3+ years of experience in premium automotive, luxury retail, or high-end technology sales.
  • Proven success meeting or exceeding sales targets while delivering a premium customer experience.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to build trust and rapport quickly.
  • Passion for electric vehicles, innovative technology, and luxury customer engagement.
  • Highly organized, self-starter, with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Willingness and ability to travel frequently, including evenings and weekends.
  • Proficiency in CRM platforms, Microsoft Office Suite, and digital sales/collaboration tools.
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record required.

Preferred Qualifications for Position

  • Experience in EV or startup automotive sales environments.
  • Familiarity with EV charging infrastructure, digital retail platforms, and connected vehicle technologies.
  • Background in luxury brand experiences, customer engagement, or event-driven sales.
  • Bilingual in Japanese or Spanish is a plus.

Additional Details

  • Location: Based in Culver City, California with frequent travel to San Francisco, San Diego, Beverly Hills, and other key markets.
  • Work Arrangement: Primarily in-person, with extensive customer-facing activity.
  • Travel Requirements: Frequent travel across California; occasional additional travel as needed.

The anticipated annual base salary for this position is $90,000-$110,000. This range does not include any other compensation components or other benefits that an individual may be eligible for. The actual base salary offered depends on a variety of factors, which may include as applicable, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job.
