Mottai Miami is a modern Japanese restaurant in the heart of Coral Gables.
We are seeking an experienced and skilled Executive Sous Chef to lead the daily culinary operations of our upscale restaurant. This is a key leadership role that blends operational excellence with technical precision and creativity. You’ll be responsible for executing dishes to the highest standards, developing a high-performing team, and ensuring every detail reflects the quality of our brand.
Who We’re Looking For
- Minimum 2 years in a management kitchen role in an upscale establishment
- Experience balancing high-volume production with fine dining presentation and technique
- Strong leadership and communication skills in English
- Calm, organized, and detail-oriented under pressure
- Proficiency in modern kitchen systems, inventory control, and prep management
- Knowledge of Japanese cuisine is preferred; familiarity with Asian ingredients is a plus
- Culinary degree or formal training is a plus
- Working knowledge of Spanish or another language is a plus
