Role and Responsibilities
We are seeking a highly skilled General Accounting Analyst within our Global Business Services (GBS). This role will be responsible for the day-to-day processing of general accounting transactions, ensuring accuracy in entries, while compiling financial reports and analysis.
Accountabilities

  • Manage daily financial data entry in the ERP system, ensuring accuracy and completeness, and prepare and post journal entries along with general ledger account reconciliations.
  • Execute monthly, quarterly, and annual closings, making necessary adjustments to capture all financial activities and facilitate the general accounting process by supplying detailed financial data for management review.
  • Analyze balance sheet and income statement accounts, providing insightful reports and conducting financial variance analysis to deliver actionable insights for informed decision-making.
  • Prepare and present financial reports that ensure compliance with accounting standards and local regulations while collaborating with various departments to integrate financial data and streamline processes.
  • Develop ad-hoc reports and support special projects, such as financial data analysis and process improvements.

Qualifications and Experience

Essential:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
  • Minimum one (1) year of relevant experience with general accounting.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data and generate reports.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to work under tight deadlines
  • Demonstrates strong organizational skills with the ability to juggle multiple tasks
  • Able to take initiative while fostering a cooperative work environment

Preferred:

  • CMA certification or local equivalent
  • Master’s degree in one of the fields mentioned above or CPA designation (or local equivalent)

Technical Skills and Knowledge

Essential:

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Prior experience with Oracle ERP Suite and its related modules
  • Solid regional accounting knowledge (i.e., US GAAP and IFRS)

Preferred:

  • Prior experience with Hyperion Finance Management (HFM)

Languages

Fluency in English and proficiency in Japanese Language, both spoken and written is required.
