Position Summary
Responsible for greeting guests, confirming reservations (if applicable) and escorting guests to tables in an upbeat, friendly, and courteous manner.
Responsibilities:
- Greet incoming and departing guests in a warm and friendly manner
- Manage reservation system
- Ensure reservations are prioritized and seated in a timely manner
- Strive to accommodate walk-in guests whenever possible
- Seat guest(s) in the dining and bar areas while ensuring a smooth handoff to service staff
- Clearly and politely communicate with guests when delays and/or waits occur
- Maintain an organized floor by quickly and efficiently seating guests according to hotel standards
- Communicate pertinent reservation notes to appropriate staff members
- Answer phones in a prompt and professional manner and direct calls as applicable
Qualifications:
- Ability to speak, read, write and understand English
- Professional demeanor appropriate for a luxury environment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills both in person and on the phone
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with guests, staff and management
- Working knowledge of OpenTable reservation system
- Knowledge, understanding and compliance of policies and procedures, job descriptions, daily memorandums and other instructions
Education:
- High School diploma or equivalent required
