We are seeking a dependable, detail-oriented Janitor & Warehouse Receiver to support both facility cleanliness and warehouse operations. This cross-trained position ensures our workspace is clean, organized, and running efficiently. The ideal candidate takes pride in their work, adapts easily to changing tasks, and understands the importance of maintaining both sanitation standards and accurate inventory flow.
This role splits time between janitorial responsibilities (cleaning, sanitizing, and light maintenance) and warehouse receiving duties (unloading shipments, organizing stock, and maintaining inventory accuracy).
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Janitorial & Facility Maintenance
- Clean and maintain all areas of the facility including restrooms, break rooms, offices, hallways, and production areas.
- Sweep, mop, vacuum, and scrub floors; dust furniture, fixtures, and vents.
- Empty trash and recycling bins, replace liners, and ensure proper waste disposal.
- Sanitize high-touch areas such as doorknobs, handrails, light switches, and equipment handles.
- Refill restroom and breakroom supplies (soap, paper towels, tissues, etc.).
- Wash windows, mirrors, and glass doors.
- Inspect the facility for maintenance or safety issues (burned-out lights, leaks, or damages) and report them promptly.
- Operate cleaning equipment safely (floor buffers, carpet cleaners, power washers, etc.).
- Follow all OSHA and company safety standards regarding chemical handling and PPE.
Warehouse Receiving & Inventory
- Receive, unload, and inspect incoming deliveries for accuracy and damage.
- Verify shipment contents against purchase orders and packing slips.
- Tag, label, and store incoming materials in the correct locations.
- Maintain accurate inventory records and report discrepancies.
- Assist with organizing and rotating stock to ensure efficiency and safety.
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, or hand trucks safely (training or certification may be provided).
- Prepare outgoing shipments, including packing, labeling, and loading.
- Keep receiving and storage areas clean, clear, and hazard-free.
- Collaborate with the warehouse and maintenance teams to ensure smooth workflow and timely material handling.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED) preferred.
- 1-2 years of experience in janitorial, custodial, or warehouse work preferred.
- Familiarity with warehouse operations, shipping/receiving procedures, and basic inventory systems.
- Ability to lift, carry, and move items up to [50 lbs] regularly.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask between cleaning and warehouse duties.
- Comfortable working independently and as part of a team.
- Basic computer or scanner skills a plus.
- Must have reliable transportation and consistent attendance.
- Forklift certification preferred (or willingness to obtain).
- Background check and drug screening may be required.
Working Conditions:
- Work is performed in both warehouse and office environments.
- Exposure to cleaning chemicals, dust, moving machinery, and varying temperatures.
- Must be able to stand, walk, bend, lift, and perform repetitive tasks for extended periods.
- Schedule may include early mornings, evenings, or weekends depending on operational needs.
Cross-Training & Departmental Flexibility
To support operational excellence and employee development, this role includes cross-training and collaboration across departments. Team members may be assigned tasks outside their primary area
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED (required)
- 1-2 years of experience in janitorial, custodial, or warehouse work preferred
- Basic understanding of cleaning methods, materials, and equipment
- Experience with shipping, receiving, or inventory control is a plus
- Forklift certification or willingness to obtain one (company can provide training)
- Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask between cleaning and warehouse duties
- Reliable, self-motivated, and able to work independently or as part of a team
- Good communication skills and positive attitude toward coworkers and supervisors
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly and perform physical tasks such as bending, walking, and standing for long periods
- Comfortable working in both warehouse and office environments
- Must follow all safety and sanitation procedures and use PPE as required
- Must have reliable transportation and consistent attendance
- Willingness to undergo background check and/or drug screening if required
