Position Purpose:

Barrett-Jackson, The World’s Greatest Collector Car Auctions, is seeking a passionate and knowledgeable JDM consignment Specialist to join our dynamic team. The JDM Specialist will play a key role in expanding our presence in the rapidly growing JDM sector, providing expertise in sourcing, evaluating, and presenting Japanese vehicles to our discerning clientele. If you have a love for Japanese automobiles, a keen eye for detail, and a strong network within the JDM community, we want to hear from you!

Key Responsibilities:

  • Source, evaluate, and authenticate JDM vehicles for auction consignment and sale.
  • Act as Barrett-Jackson’s subject matter expert on Japanese cars, including but not limited to Nissan, Toyota, Honda, Mazda, Subaru, and Mitsubishi models.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of JDM vehicle trends, values, regulations, and import/export requirements.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with JDM vehicle collectors, dealers, and importers.
  • Assist in the creation of vehicle descriptions, historical documentation, and auction marketing materials for JDM vehicles.
  • Provide guidance and education to staff and clients regarding JDM vehicles and their unique features.
  • Support the auction team during live events, including vehicle staging, customer inquiries, and on-site vehicle presentations.

Qualifications:

  • Extensive knowledge of JDM models, specifications, and market trends.
  • Strong network within the JDM community (collectors, clubs, importers, and dealers).
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to Barrett-Jackson events and partner locations as required.

Experience and/or Education:

  • Proven experience with Japanese Domestic Market vehicles (buying, selling, restoring, or appraising).
  • Experience in the auction or automotive industry is a plus.

Culture:

Team members are in the office five days per week, 8am to 5pm at the Scottsdale, AZ headquarters. During live events the company largely travels together to produce and ensure each event is a success. This requires weekend work and long hours.
