We are currently hiring a Manager Engineering -Facilities
This position is responsible for leading and supervising maintenance technicians that work multiple shifts. Must ensure the maintenance activities are executed efficiently and effectively, and that appropriate corrective and improvement actions are taken when necessary. The role ensures proper maintenance of utilities systems including clean utilities, electric energy infrastructure, HVAC, Wastewater Treatment plant etc. Responsible for ensuring that maintenance activities are planned and performed in accordance with the HSE and GMP standards and regulations.
Main Responsibilities:
- Supervise and mentor Lilly direct reports and contract resources.
- Manage and monitor performance of Maintenance Technicians.
- Ensure that the team is appropriately staffed and trained.
- Conduct performance reviews.
- Ensures development of appropriate organizational structure/shift coverage and associated people management.
- Monitors that maintenance activities (planned and unplanned) are executed in compliance with HSE standards and guidelines.
- Pursues positive Safety Behaviors and Stop Work Authority if needed.
- Ensures maintenance are following applicable GMP standards throughout the entire process: activities preparation, activities execution, spare parts utilization, Return to Service and associated documentation need to be compliant with quality and data integrity standards.
- Uses Stop Work Authority and appropriate escalation as required. Ensures alignment of maintenance practices across shifts: facilitates shift handover and, in partnership with Process or Reliability engineers, captures and spreads best practices and lessons learned.
- Responsible of the maintenance performance indicators (work orders execution, safety and quality, maintenance cost, etc.) and of the continuous improvement agenda.
- Monitor budgets and maintenance costs associated with its organization.
- Work closely with operations personnel to understand customer needs and issues associated with existing equipment/system.
- Identify roadblocks and communicate to appropriate level on time.
- Develop, monitor, and communicate Maintenance initiatives/objectives to customers.
- In partnership with Process/Reliability Engineers, develops plan to increase the equipment reliability and improve maintenance plan effectiveness.
- Support the development, review and approval of equipment/systems maintenance documents and strategies.
- Support or lead troubleshooting efforts to resolve equipment problems using different problem-solving techniques. Identify and drive improvement opportunities (procedural changes, upgrades, projects, etc.) associated with equipment & maintenance processes.
- Develops business relationships with internal and external clients and suppliers.
- Ensure the team is following requirements in applicable Global Quality Standards, Global Engineering Standards, and Health and Safety & Environmental, Process Safety.
Basic Requirements:
- BS Engineering (preferably Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical Engineering).
- Minimum 5 years of engineering, reliability or maintenance experience.
- Experience and knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP). 3+ years of experience in bulk pharmaceutical operations experience, desirable.
- Clear demonstration of leadership skills. No less than 3 years of supervisory experience.
- Knowledgeable in problem solving techniques.
- Experience and knowledge on reliability maintenance strategies, Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) and Root Cause Analysis (RCA) methods.
- Fully Bilingual (English/Spanish).
- Ability to manage multiple projects/activities and prioritize work based on business needs.
- Good organization, interpersonal and communications skills. Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization.
- Effective teamwork and collaboration skills Ability to work across boundaries with equipment suppliers, contract engineering suppliers, and other Lilly organizations.
- Ability to influence across distinct functions, within engineering and operations.
- Available to work or provide support to a 24/7 operation. Willing to work irregular hours, weekends and/or holidays when necessary.
- Availability to travel within and outside of Puerto Rico and the U.S. CMMS (Computer Maintenance Management Systems) experience desired

Actual compensation will depend on a candidate’s education, experience, skills, and geographic location. The anticipated wage for this position is
$93,750 – $137,500
Full-time equivalent employees also will be eligible for a company bonus (depending, in part, on company and individual performance).
