Provide U.S. tax compliance services to businesses. Apply and review U.S. tax provisions. Understand, analyze, and research the application of U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Statutory Accounting Principles in the context of clients’ taxation. Assess the tax impact of business transactions, develop positions to support tax conclusions, and assist leadership with recommending tax planning strategies to clients in both English and Japanese. Monitor the financial risk and performance of tax engagements by tracking billing, collections, and progress against budget. Demonstrate in-depth tax accounting knowledge. Pursue business development opportunities. Establish and maintain client relationships and professional networks.

WORK SCHEDULE: 40 hours per week, M-F (9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.)

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Must have a Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Accounting, Finance, Taxation, Economics, Business Administration, Commerce, or a related field, and 2 years of related work experience; OR a Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Accounting, Finance, Taxation, Economics, Business Administration, Commerce, or a related field, and 5 years of post-bachelor’s, progressive related work experience

Of the required experience, must have 2 years of experience with the following: providing tax compliance services; applying U.S. GAAP and Statutory Accounting Principles; applying and reviewing U.S. income tax provisions, including ASC 740 and analyzing U.S. federal tax issues

Must have an active New York CPA license

Must have verbal and written fluency in Japanese

Travel to various locations throughout the U.S. required up to 20%

Telecommuting may be permitted within commutable distance from the office location depending on business need

SALARYRANGE : $ 142,646 – $ 187,400 per year
