Manufacturing Engineer
DUTIES:
- Develops, evaluates, and improves manufacturing methods by applying knowledge of product design, materials, fabrication processes, tooling, and production equipment capabilities for GDI, Tubing, Fan, Fan Drive, and ECFD product lines.
- Performs engineering work related to the design, re-design, manufacture, installation, operation, and maintenance of electronic and mechanical production equipment to enhance productivity and reliability.
- Examines equipment, processes, and operations to identify quality or efficiency improvements and implements process revisions as needed.
- Analyzes production methods and develops manufacturing processes that meet quality, cost, and performance objectives.
- Troubleshoots production issues and implements corrective actions to minimize downtime.
- Conducts root cause analysis of downtime problems and determines appropriate manpower, materials, and equipment solutions while considering cost efficiency and operational impact.
- Demonstrates independent decision-making and the ability to manage multiple engineering tasks simultaneously.
- Provides technical support to maintenance, quality, production control, and project engineering teams.
- Ensures compliance with company safety, health, and operational policies.
- Maintains organization and cleanliness of the work area in accordance with 4S principles.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electro-Mechanical Engineering, or Engineering Technology.
- 6+ years of experience in a manufacturing or production engineering environment.
- Proficient in reading and interpreting mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical drawings and technical product specifications.
- Knowledge of fabrication, measurement, and assembly tools and techniques.
- Strong understanding of engineering theory, mechanical systems, and process improvement practices.
- Experience with AutoCAD, Inventor, and math/analysis software preferred.
- Familiarity with PLC programming and database systems is a plus.
- Proven ability to troubleshoot, fabricate, and repair machines or mechanical assemblies.
- Strong analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Bilingual skills (English and Japanese, Thai, Chinese, Indian, or Spanish) are a plus.
