Description
– Planning and implementing product strategies for new stores and existing businesses
– Selecting imported products and formulating sales strategies
– Reviewing and improving transactions with US vendors
– Supporting and guiding the profit contributions of departments involved in handling and manufacturing products (logistics, central kitchen, warehouse)
– Communicating and evaluating managers to improve their capabilities
– Revising and implementing departmental operations manuals and evaluation systems
– Establishing an operational structure with appropriate inventory levels and conducting monthly inventory. Reviewing and improving the implementation of various strategies
– Responsible for restructuring and proposing investments in line with business expansion
– Supporting each group company’s growth strategies and promoting collaboration
Translation/interpretation, creation of materials/documents and other support duties for Marukai Corporation Executives. (30%) Collaboration with the HQ in Japan related to back office operations. (10%) Handling all tasks arising from synergy projects and cooperative work between Marukai Corporation and other US subsidiaries. (50%) Prepare reporting documents related to US business to Japan HQ on a regular and ad-hoc basis. (10%)
Sales and profit planning and progress management
Planning and progress management of sales plans centered on Japanese imported products and Japanese recipe products, which are the core of revenue
Pricing to maximize profits, planning marketing strategies, and progress management
Planning price strategies and promoting advertising strategies after understanding the prices and strategies of Japanese and Chinese companies
Improving kitchen business skills and productivity
Promoting actions to improve manufacturing skills of central kitchens and store kitchens and efforts to improve manufacturing efficiency
Constantly comparing outsourced and in-house production, promoting maximization of profits with in-house manufactured products
MDD-Dept, Section Manager work evaluation and support
Understanding and supporting the work status of each practitioner
Authority to hire necessary personnel at HQ, operating evaluation accuracy of kitchen and other manufacturing engineers and updating them as appropriate
Planning new food and beverage businesses, authority to create new HQ positions when opening stores or expanding scale
Product procurement, vendor selection, company-wide inventory management, and appropriate management of monthly inventory operations
Always checking product costs and quality and being conscious of maintaining quality
Improve kitchen business skills and productivity. Conduct regular audits of the quality of manufactured products to maintain the quality of the products provided. Maintain and improve an environment in which guidance is given to proper inventory management, waste reduction, and improved manufacturing yield. Check the operation status of monthly inventory, maintain an appropriate operation system, and provide necessary training and create and operate manuals.
Create and promote plans for new store openings, food and beverage business initiatives, and renovation of existing stores. For new store openings, expand and reduce the development GP by analyzing the situation of competitors, and select lean categories. For new store openings, implement training plans for personnel, create manuals, and update them as necessary. Plan and manage the progress of renovations that lead to growth strategies for existing stores. Budget for fixtures and equipment necessary for creating sales floors and promote efficiency for future initiatives.
Create opportunities for all employees to increase their knowledge of Japanese products. Create opportunities for tastings of PB products, selection of imported products, machines for US arrangements of Japanese recipes, and sharing of Japanese trends. Hold events, study sessions, sales championships, etc. involving HQ and store employees as appropriate.
Requirements
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, supply chain, or other relevant fields
- 5+ years of related experience in inventory and logistics, with management experience in multi sites and fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of food and Donki’s private brand transportation regulations and requirements
- Prior experience in rapid growth environment
- Proven ability to manage inventory and logistics strategy and teams
- Exposure to international shipping regulations and export controls, including International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) will be plus but not must
- Experience with AS9100, ITAR export controls, EAR, and FAR will be plus
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to prioritize effectively and efficiently
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
- Team oriented, strong ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment and to multiple deadlines
