Position Summary
Sony Honda Mobility of America (SHMA) is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Parts Advisor Specialist to work at SHMA’s Delivery Center, ensuring parts readiness that enables smooth Pre-Delivery Inspection (PDI) operations for AFEELA customers. The role will also provide secondary support for post-delivery service operations and cross-site needs as required.
This is a multifaceted role with ~80-90% focus on pre-delivery operations and ≤10-20% on post-delivery or cross-site support. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced delivery hub, ensuring VIN-level accuracy, supply chain precision, and seamless collaboration with Service, Quality, and Delivery teams.
Primary Responsibilities (Pre-Delivery Operations ~80-90%)
- Own accessories inventory and ensure VIN-level staging to PDI bays.
- Execute PSI-driven ordering in coordination with Hub Manager/PSI approver forecasts.
- Manage PDI supplies (chemicals, tools, uniforms) including ordering, receiving, distribution, and maintaining reorder points.
- Support Technicians with quality/warranty triage for accessories; initiate HTA warranty claims as needed.
- Process MRB parts – handle and return warranty parts with full traceability to RO/claim.
- Handle hazardous waste and HV materials disposal, including HV batteries, drive units, inverters, oils, and lead-acid batteries.
- Coordinate with delivery teams on Owner’s Manual, REVIVER (digital plates), and XiX wrap applications to ensure timely readiness.
- Support VIN-level parts traceability, staging accuracy, and daily receiving/bin registration to ensure all parts align with delivery targets.
Secondary Responsibilities (Post-Delivery/Cross-Site Support ≤10-20%)
- Provide parts and inventory support for post-delivery Customer Care and ISA teams.
- Support cross-site needs, including temporary registration sticker distribution and coordination with Torrance Service teams.
- Collaborate with Warranty, Quality, and Logistics to ensure seamless handoff of parts-related escalations.
- Assist with inventory audits, cycle counts, and root cause analysis (RCA) of variances.
Required Qualifications for Position
- 4+ years of experience in automotive parts operations, dealership parts departments, or OEM parts distribution.
- Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced delivery center environment, managing PDI and inventory workflows.
- Strong knowledge of automotive components, service terminology, and inventory best practices (cycle counts, RCA, bin staging).
- Excellent communication and organizational skills, with a strong customer-first mindset.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and/or Google Workspace tools.
- Attention to detail in VIN-level documentation, traceability, and reporting.
Preferred Qualifications for Position
- Experience supporting EV service and parts operations.
- Familiarity with DMS systems, OEM parts catalogs, and ordering platforms.
- Hands-on experience with hazardous/HV material handling in automotive environments.
- Background working with service technicians, warranty claims, or quality teams.
- Japanese language proficiency a plus.
Additional Details
- Work Arrangement: This is an on-site position in Culver City, CA, transitioning to Torrance, CA in Fall 2025.
- Travel Requirements: Minimal, though occasional travel to other SHMA or vendor sites may be required.

The anticipated annual base salary for this position is $65,000-$85,000. This range does not include any other compensation components or other benefits that an individual may be eligible for. The actual base salary offered depends on a variety of factors, which may include as applicable, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job.
