The law firm of Oblon, McClelland, Maier & Neustadt LLP (“Oblon”) seeks a Patent Agent with at least 4 years of Post-AIA patent prosecution and drafting experience in a law firm setting to join its Chemical practice. We require a technical degree in the areas of organic or inorganic chemistry, with a strong preference for organic chemistry candidates. A Master’s or Doctorate in the relevant field is a plus, as is industry experience. Candidates must possess superior technical knowledge, writing and communication skills. Responsibilities include drafting patent applications; analysis and preparation of replies to office actions; invention and disclosure meetings/calls with clients; and prosecution of patent applications. Written and oral fluency in a foreign language is a plus, Japanese or Korean language skills are preferred. Qualified candidates must be registered to practice and in good standing before the USPTO. Experienced USPTO examiners and APJ candidates welcome to apply.

The Firm specializes in securing patent protection for complex technologies and providing strategic intellectual property counseling to its clients.

The annual salary range for this position is $115,000 – $150,000. The salary offered will depend upon qualifications and experience.
