Position Overview
The BOH Polisher plays a crucial behind-the-scenes role in maintaining the standard of excellence at Buccan and Imoto. This position is responsible for ensuring that all crockery, cutlery, glassware, and service utensils are impeccably cleaned, polished, and replenished throughout service. Working closely with both the BOH and FOH teams, the Polisher supports overall restaurant readiness and cleanliness while upholding our commitment to a refined guest experience.
Key Responsibilities
Station Support & Maintenance
- Ensure all silverware, dishware, and glassware are properly cleaned, polished, and stocked at designated stations throughout the shift.
- Restock service stations with clean and polished items in a timely manner to support FOH efficiency.
- Maintain polish cloths and station tools in good condition.
Hygiene & Sanitation
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in all assigned back-of-house areas, including the dish station and washroom facilities.
- Adhere to daily and weekly cleaning checklists.
- Monitor restroom supply levels and cleanliness, coordinating with management or purchasing as needed.
Operational Standards
- Treat all company property with care and attention.
- Communicate low stock or broken items to management promptly.
- Follow all hygiene and sanitation procedures in accordance with health and safety standards.
- Report any personnel issues or concerns to the management team.
Team Contribution
- Support service team in maintaining smooth operations during peak hours.
- Follow service standards and protocols as directed by the Head Waiter or Manager.
- Demonstrate teamwork by stepping into tasks as needed to maintain flow and readiness.
- Uphold a high level of professionalism and a clean, well-groomed appearance.
Requirements
Qualifications
- Prior experience in fine dining or high-volume restaurants preferred but not required.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
- Must be punctual and able to follow established attendance procedures.
- Ability to lift up to 30 lbs. and stand for extended periods of time.
- Must be comfortable working in back-of-house areas, including dish stations and service corridors.
- Able to communicate effectively with both FOH and BOH staff.
