POSITION: Principal Resident Application Engineer

JOB DUTIES: Create and/or improve engineering standards/application analysis methods based on the needs of the market and/or company. Provide support and guidance for technical projects. Provide input for and assist with development of new products or product enhancements and establish guidelines for future practice of these products. Provide knowledge of precedents, principles, and practices of engineering. Demonstrate knowledge of and conformance to JTEKT engineering standards and quality systems. Lead customer technical reviews. Direct interaction with customer engineering to strengthen relationships, promote JTEKT technology and to establish market needs. Assist with Change Management, related risk assessment and customer communication. Identify and communicate technological trends with primary market. Position requires 20% domestic and 10% international travel. Hybrid remote work permitted 2 days week in commuting distance from the Plymouth Charter Township, Michigan office.

HOURS: 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday

REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or related field of study and eight (8) years of experience as an as a Development and Design Engineer, Assistant manager, Manager or related role where experience was gained. Also requires 8 years of experience in the following:

• Advanced Core design expertise for Electric Power system products;
• Development and launch methodologies utilized in Japanese manufacturing;
• Various steering systems and related products such as Column EPS and Dual Pinion;
• Analytical tools/techniques such APQP and AD, 5Why and Fault Tree Analysis used for steering systems analysis and validation;
• Column EPS and Dual Pinion system component development and design;
• Katia management; and
• Enovia management.
