Responsibilities

What You’ll Get To Do:

To direct its own team to assure supply chain security while maintaining and improving company’s compliance level along with CTPAT certification and to support top management.

Managing Existing Procurement Planning Team & Functions including:

  • Procurement Planning
  • Global Code Administration
  • CSR
  • Collection and Data Management of Assessment and Consent to Supply Chain Guidelines
  • Human Resource Development
  • Planning and Administration of Trainings for Procurement Members
  • Supply Chain Security
  • Leading and/or Managing Legal Compliance including Document Retention, POA with Customs Broker, and Customs Bond Arrangements
  • Drafting and/or Approving Policy, Procedures, Work Instructions, and Quality Records/Documents and their implementation
  • Prepare and scrutinize legal compliance documents and CSR assessment including CTPAT documents for implementation. This includes revising/ updating/creating following documents:
    • Employee Handbook/ Workers General Rules / BCP / Emergency Procedures / Compliance Policy
    • Compliance Committee Meeting Minutes / Hotline Report Records / Individual Labor Contract
    • Documents to Show Those who are Not Enrolled in Plan and Legal Justification
    • Hiring Requirements / List of Foreign Workers / Recruitment Requirement or Requisition
    • CSR Guideline/Policy / Training Record/ Endorsed Policy on Health and Safety / Endorsed Policy on Compliance/ Harassment

CTPAT Management

  • With close communication and/or coordination with CBP and PNA-PEXNA as well as PEX-GPRD and PHD, maintain CTPAT certification and global supply chain security standards

Qualifications

What You’ll Bring

Education & Experience:

  • B.A. or B.S. degree or higher (regardless of major, with a preference for natural or social science disciplines).
  • Minimum of 6 years of trade practical experience in international logistics and compliance areas including transportation processing, customs clearance, financial transactions, commercial contracts, and other related matters.
  • Knowledge of general trade practices, including export-import contracts, logistics, handling shipping documents, and export-import payment methods.
  • Proficiency in MS Office.
  • U.S. Export-Import Customs-related tasks
  • U.S. Import Classification-related tasks
  • U.S. Import Control-related tasks
  • U.S. Customs and/or ISO Audit-related tasks
  • Procedures and Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) Creation and Maintenance
  • U.S. Legal Record-keeping Obligation Information Management such as Document retention tasks

Competencies:

  • Passion to create new solution of global procurement and supply chain with Supply Chain Security
  • Set challenging goals
  • Desire for self-improvement
  • Proactively act as “Customer First”

Communications:

  • Must have the ability to effectively communicate in English and Japanese (Listening, speaking, writing & reading/ for Japanese N1 level or native; Often translation and/or interpretation are involved.

Other Requirements:

  • Travel including international to Latin America and possibly to Asia
  • Team-work spirit
  • Ability to work extended shifts, evenings and weekends as business needs require
  • Candidate needs to be located in Torrance CA area

The wage range of $90,000 – $100,000 is just one component of Panasonic’s total package. Actual compensation varies depending on the individual’s knowledge, skills, experience, and location. This role may be eligible for discretionary bonuses and incentives. *The minimum hourly wage for this role will be the greater of the posted range, or minimum wage for the location where the employee will be working, subject to local minimum wage requirements.
