Description

We are looking for a Purchasing Assistant to provide clerical, administrative, and other support services for the purchasing department and our automotive manufacturing plants. This position spends a considerable amount of time entering and updating vendors and purchasing data into multiple database systems. This position will be based at our headquarters office located in Bloomingdale, IL. Major responsibilities are as follows:
• Provide administrative and clerical support to the department.
• Create POR (Purchase Order Requests) and maintain these in an Excel database.
• Prepare, process, and issue Purchase Orders in PLEX ERP system
• Support all supplier PLEX inquiries and identify solutions that are agreeable to both FNA and the supplier.
• Monitor supplier ISO/IATF certifications and update their status in PLEX.
• Maintain supplier contact master data in the purchasing data system and update information as needed.
• Maintain confidentiality of customers’ projects and other sensitive information.
• Maintain multiple recordkeeping systems and files for purchasing department.
• Maintain record of customer assets at our suppliers’ locations.
• Support annual Conflict Mineral reporting activities.
• Research vendors and collect prices, specifications, and other data related to goods and services.
• Support Futaba automotive manufacturing plants by responding to customer inquiries, cost confirmation, and supplier cost issues.
• Respond to requests for data from management and other designated employees
• Maintain communications within the department and with internal/external contacts.
• Perform other projects and duties as assigned by Department Manager and other designated individuals.

Requirements

The ideal candidate will have 1 or more years of experience in a purchasing support or data entry position. 1+ years of experience with PLEX ERP or other ERP, MRP, or CRM system is required. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) is essential. Associate’s Degree or equivalent is preferred. Ability to speak Japanese is a plus.

The pay range is $24 – $27 per hour annualized to $49,920 – $56,160 depending on knowledge, skills, and abilities.
