The Quality Coordinator coordinates activities associated with quality assurance and customer service for the customer base. This role will develop strong customer/supplier relationships, providing direct contact and support for issues related to company products. This position is located at our Jackson, TN plant.
What you will do for UGN:
- Coordinate technical liaison services between management, production departments, sales department, and customer/suppliers with newly developed techniques or practices in processing company products.
- Coordinate technical liaison services to inform customer/supplier of new types, specifications, and end uses of products.
- Confer with production department managers to assist in specific classification of products from quality assurance position, to report on new product or process technology of competitors, and to discuss new specifications required by customer/supplier.
- Direct investigation of customer/supplier complaints regarding quality, tolerances, specifications, and delivered condition of products.
- Record, analyze, and inform concerned personnel of production quality assurance, and sales department of status and disposition of customer/supplier complaints and claims.
- Negotiate settlement of claims, for which the company is responsible, within limits prescribed by management.
- Plan and coordinate the analysis, inspection, design, test, and/or integration to assure the quality of assigned product or component.
- Review all purchased products or components and provides input to the decision of whether to accept the product and future purchases from the vendor.
- Document data obtained during all quality assurance activities, consistent with company policies and procedures.
- Develop new approaches to solve problems identified during quality assurance activities.
- Communicate significant issues or developments identified during quality assurance activities and provide recommended process improvements to management.
- Prepare reports to communicate involvement and results of quality assurance activities.
- Prepare and present technical and program information to team members and management.
- Direct technical and administrative workers engaged in quality assurance activities.
- Monitor customer portals and report technical findings / requirements through portal, electronic, and verbal communications
- Maintain regular attendance and punctuality.
- Other duties may be assigned.
- Direct supervision of Team Members may be required. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
What you will bring to UGN:
- Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 3+ years of Quality-related experience and/or training.
- Knowledge of Quality Systems/ISO 9001 is preferred
- Experience with Japanese automotive manufacturers is a plus
- Strong communication skills with internal and external customers
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications – Word, Excel, Power Point; Microsoft Outlook; and Quality software.
