Upbeat and Diligent Sales Manager needed for Japanese Logistics & Transportation Company!!

A Japanese Logistics & Transportation company is currently looking for a full time Sales Manager to join their Houston, TX location.

The Sales Manager is responsible for driving new business development, cross-selling, and account expansion across existing, potential, and international network clients. Works closely with Business Development and other sales units to build a versatile, multicultural sales organization, leading sales initiatives in both global and local markets.

The Manager also oversees tenders, ensure client satisfaction, coordinates with operations, and supports upper management in proposals, presentations, and new business implementation.

DOE and skills, the pay range for this position would be between the 80k-110k and it comes with great benefits as well.

 

Your essential duties would be as follows:

New Business Development / Cross-Selling

– Research, prospect, and qualify new business opportunities through collaboration with global offices.
– Increase market share within assigned territory and meet financial goals (volume, revenue, profit).
– Prepare proposals, recommend service enhancements, and close new business.
– Manage sales leads to/from domestic and overseas branches.
– Lead and prepare periodical tenders within assigned clients/territories/industries.
– Successfully onboard new customers and record activities using CRM tools.
– Utilize new business audit processes to track performance.
– Existing Account Management / Cross-Selling

Expand market share within the existing customer base.
– Maintain regular customer communication and resolve service or delivery issues.
– Provide quotations, proposals, transportation schedules, and handle ad hoc pricing.
– Offer solutions related to regulations, freight handling, loading methods, and special equipment.
– Review account profitability and manage contract renewals.
– Maintain accurate CRM and audit records.

Operations Coordination

– Collaborate with operations teams across all business units to provide the highest service level and resolve issues.
– Coordinate shipments with shippers, carriers, warehouses, and trucking partners.
– Work with credit department on credit lines and letters of credit.
– Provide operational reports on rates, carriers, and service matters.
– Communicate with U.S. and overseas offices regarding joint or targeted clients.
– Participate in client educational programs and local business networking events.
-Engage operations/accounting teams regarding financial issues with assigned clients.

Sales Management

– Achieve annual sales volume and P&L targets in consultation with upper management.
– Develop SOPs for major accounts.
– Join joint sales calls, BD/sales meetings, and multi-region sales initiatives.
– Submit all required sales reports.
Please consider the following qualifications when applying:

– Bachelor’s degree in a related field + 3+ years of experience in international shipping/logistics,
OR 2+ years of experience in a sales assistant or customer service position (logistics industry preferred).
– Strong interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal).
– Proven ability in client prospecting, account management, and relationship building.
– Ability to develop strategies and customized solutions for client needs.
– Ability to guide and support the development of junior sales team members.
– Highly organized, adaptable, and results-driven.
– Multilingual proficiency preferred; English required. Japanese is plus.
– Strong business writing and presentation skills.
– Ability to interpret business publications, technical procedures, and regulations.
– Sound judgment in managing travel and entertainment expenditures.

Minimum USD Salary: 80000
Maximum USD Salary: 110000
