Job Description
Provides assistant as a member of the Restaurant Team to include cleaning, counter service, sanitation, and stocking of products. All MAIDO jobs require ensuring a positive company image by providing excellent and memorable customer service. All positions must be prepared and able to perform the duties inherent in other Team Member job descriptions. We are looking for someone who likes Japanese food and likes interacting with people. If you can work 3 – 5 days a week (6 – 8 hour shift), please consider applying for this fun position.

Restaurant Server job duties and responsibilities

  • Taking customers’ food and drink orders
  • Ensuring cooking utensils and kitchen area are cleaned after closing to comply with state regulations
  • Responsible for ensuring the shelves are well-stocked with fresh, high-quality products for customers
  • Communicate order details to kitchen personnel
  • Communicate with customers to resolve complaints or ensure satisfaction
  • Take orders and explain food menu
  • Serve orders and take dishes away
  • Manage take-out orders and prepare
  • Maintain the tables, workplace, and back storage to be clean, safe, and organized
  • Prepare deli and restaurant foods
  • Fill, maintain and rotate products and displays
  • Place “Made on date stickers” on products
  • Greet customers and respond to their inquiries courteously
  • All other necessary duties assigned

Requirements

Restaurant Server job skills and qualifications

  • Prior experience in a food-serving establishment
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills
  • Working knowledge of point-of-sale (POS) systems
  • High level of stamina to work on feet for extended periods
  • Ability to work well under intense time pressure
  • Dedication to on-time arrival for shifts
  • Available to work a variety of hours, days, and shifts, including weekends
  • Ability to transport food or beverages to a table safely of three in a single trip
  • Polite and hospitable attitude

Nice to have…

  • Basic proficiency in Japanese
  • Familiarity in Japanese food
