Toyoda Gosei North America (headquartered in Troy, MI) has an opening for a Sales Account Manager in the Japanese OEM Sales department. The Sales Account Manager functions with a high degree of autonomy and is responsible for providing professional level sales account management, customer service and communication for Toyoda Gosei (TG) North America Corporation (TGNA), and TGNA Manufacturing Companies (NAMCs).

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manage account(s) internally and externally to maximize customer satisfaction and ensure profitability
  • Assist in creating sales strategies to achieve corporate sales targets and support company vision
  • Coordination of commercial activities through the entire organization, such as Engineering change, quality improvements, quoting, negotiating and reporting
  • Internal and External Data Management- update all internal sales systems and be able to track and report changes to management internally
  • External Customer Relationship Development- promote effective communication with customers and develop professional working relationships with all Customer Representatives
  • Drive optimization by being actively engaged in continuous improvement efforts
  • Function in a highly collaborative environment where flexibility and teamwork is crucial to individual success

Qualifications and Competencies

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or a technical field is preferred
  • Minimum of 2-5 years of experience in/with an automotive manufacturing organization is required
  • Product knowledge of automotive plastic parts or safety systems
  • Demonstrated ability to compile and present reports in a factual and concise manner
  • Ability to read and understand financial reports is required
  • Experience working with Japanese Original Equipment Manufacturers (JOEM) is preferred
  • Knowledge of automotive manufacturing processes is preferred
  • Proficiency using Microsoft Office Suites 2007 or newer is required
  • Ability to consistently meet deadlines is required
  • Effective verbal, non-verbal, negotiation and written communication skills are required
  • Ability to sustain a high degree of professionalism in interacting with internal and external customers is required
  • Effective attention to detail, problem solving, analytical and organizational skills is required
