[ Your Mission ]

Harness Your Network to Build Sugoi Mart’s Retail Presence.

Sugoi Mart is seeking a results-driven Sales Manager with a proven network of relationships with retail buyers and brokers in the snack category. In this role, you’ll leverage your industry connections to expand our footprint across grocery, convenience, and specialty retail markets. With a focus on high-growth opportunities, you’ll bring our unique, trendy products to shelves nationwide.

This role offers a flexible hybrid (2 days per week in our NYC office) or remote work environment with periodic travel to connect with partners and attend key industry events.

[ Your Responsibilities ]

  • Leverage Existing Retailer & Broker Relationships:
    • Use your established network of buyers and brokers to secure retail placements and distribution agreements for Sugoi Mart’s product lines.
    • Act as a trusted partner to retailers, delivering tailored product assortments that meet their customers’ needs.
  • Strategic Sales Execution:
    • Identify and develop new business opportunities within the conventional grocery, convenience, and specialty channels.
    • Lead the full sales cycle, from prospecting and pitching to closing deals and nurturing long-term partnerships.
    • Collaborate with brokers and distributors to expand the reach of Sugoi Mart’s unique offerings.
    • Lead negotiations with retail and distribution partners to establish mutually advantageous contractual agreements.
  • Channel Expansion:
    • Create and implement strategic pricing structures, promotional campaigns and account-specific assortment plans to exceed revenue & growth targets.
    • Identify new retailer opportunities, leveraging industry insights to expand Sugoi Mart’s presence across regions and categories.
  • Market Expertise:
    • Develop a comprehensive understanding of Sugoi Mart’s products and provide education and support to retail partners, emphasizing key features and value propositions.
    • Stay informed about industry trends, competitor activities, and evolving consumer preferences to inform sales strategies.
  • Performance and Reporting:
    • Develop and manage accurate sales forecasts, budgets, and performance metrics.
    • Present regular updates to leadership, highlighting achievements, challenges, and opportunities for growth.

  • Network Power: Proven ability to leverage existing relationships with buyers and brokers in the snack or grocery CPG industry to drive sales.
  • Sales Expertise: A track record of successfully growing accounts and exceeding sales goals in retail and grocery channels.
  • Negotiation Savvy: Strong skills in closing deals, managing purchase orders, and setting terms that balance profitability and growth.
  • Market Insight: In-depth understanding of snack and retail trends, coupled with the ability to curate winning product assortments.
  • Cultural Passion: A strong interest in Japanese snacks, collectibles, and pop culture is a significant advantage.
  • Collaborative Mindset: Ability to work effectively across cross-functional teams, including Operations, Marketing, and Logistics.

[ Your Qualifications ]

  • 3 to 5 years of sales experience in the snack, candy, or beverage CPG industry.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Business, Sales, Marketing, or a related field.
  • Experience working with distributors and brokers to manage retail relationships.
  • Proven track record of successful consistently meeting or exceeding sales targets.
  • Strong knowledge of the retail market, including industry dynamics, competitive landscape, and consumer behaviors.
  • Exceptional communication and negotiation skills.
  • Self-motivated, results-driven, and proactive with a commitment to delivering excellence.
  • An interest in Asian culture and cuisine is advantageous.
  • Willingness to travel as required.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $50,000-$85,000 + sales commission + stock options + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by a range of factors including role, level, and location.
