WHAT YOU’LL DO
Our Club is looking for an experienced Seasonal Sushi Chef to join our team. The Sushi Chef will prepare sushi rolls and dishes from the sushi bar. Our ideal candidate is comfortable with a variety of sushi rolling, plating, and related cooking techniques and has experience working in a busy sushi restaurant. Advanced knife cutting skills are a must. Our Sushi chefs will be required to interact with customers, providing recommendations on different dishes when requested.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED
The Sushi Chef must complete all tasks and assignments assigned by the Executive Chef and Chef of Main Club and Sportshouse, including but not limited to:
- Preparing different types of sushi like maki, nigiri, and adding complementary flavors
- Selecting fresh vegetables and fish, like salmon and tuna on a timely basis
- Reviewing and managing inventory requirements
- Coordinating with other team members to fulfill special requests
- Sterilizing all equipment before using and maintaining cleanliness levels
- Chopping and slicing vegetables and fish as per the requirements
- Customizing orders to suit preferences
- Inspecting and using the highest quality ingredients at all times
- Preparing all dishes as per the established guidelines and food safety standards
- Communicating any kitchen issues to the Supervisor or Kitchen Manager
- Degree or Diploma in Culinary Art
- Proven 3+ years of work experience as a Sushi Chef in Hospitality Industry
- Knowledge of traditional Japanese cuisine and sushi rolling techniques
- Understanding of the food industry and safety standards
- Ability to stand for long hours
- Ability to be a team player
- Ability to maintain hygiene standards
- Ability to provide excellent customer satisfaction
- Holding a valid food handler license
PAY RANGE
$24.00 – $28.00 hourly compensation, commensurate with experience
