Overview & Responsibilities

Purpose of the Job:

This position will have a critical role on the Ebara Energy team, to meet all the consolidated Ebara Energy financial reporting requirements, both internal and external. This position will have a major role in providing on-going coordination support on all accounting and financial matters for all entities within Ebara Energy, as we work toward our future state.

This position has been identified as the primary liaison for all communications within Ebara, Asia Pac entities and Elliott Group. This role is a key source of support to the FP&A Commercial Finance by analyzing and preparing management data. Another key role is to support and develop one single reporting entity for Ebara Energy into the Ebara reporting system currently STRAVIS with consistent management metrics.

This position will prepare a wide variety of financial and business analyses for financial, general management and manufacturing operations. The analyses must include assessments, observations, recommendations and summaries to assist management in taking appropriate actions. As well as direct, coordinate, prepare and consolidate monthly forecasts, annual plans and strategic plans for Ebara Energy Product Lines and support consolidation.

Background & Experience:

  • Must be a fluent in English, Japanese or Chinese is a plus, as well and be a degreed Accounting or Finance graduate with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in a managerial accounting role.
  • Candidate must be able to adapt to various international cultures and requirements. Occasionally, international travel is required.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Advanced proficiency in presentation software (e.g., Microsoft PowerPoint) with a demonstrated ability to create visually engaging and informative slides, along with high attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, Qlik Sense, or similar highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of US and Japanese generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and operational practices is required along with experience working in a multi-currency environment.
  • Must be proficient with IFRS as applied to financial reporting (e.g., income statements, balance sheets, cash flow statements) and appropriate accounting for various transactions.
  • Experience required with monthly actual closing cycle and planning / forecasting processes.
  • Well-developed analytical skills, communicative ability is essential.
  • Additionally, practical working knowledge and ability to understand and problem-solve Oracle E-Business and FCCS applications.

Nature of the Job:

  • Consolidate BUs financial analysis and KPIs for submission to local management and Corporate.
  • Participate in the managerial analysis of various business opportunities as they may arise.
  • Approximately 50% of the activities are covered by precedents while the remaining 50% require responses to new, original situations.
  • Principal activities are collecting, developing, analyzing, coordinating, directing, recommending, and presenting the results of the analyses to financial management, manufacturing management and senior executives.
  • Support Integration of a management metrics to promote cost reductions.
  • Daily interaction with BU analyst, Senior Financial Managers, Finance Department and various Operational Managers and resolution of financial issues.
  • Participate on various project teams.

Specific Responsibilities / Competencies:

  • Develop and maintain financial models for the consolidation of the monthly forecasts, annual financial plans and strategic plans.
  • Analyzes, interprets and makes recommendations with regards to operating results compared to forecasts, financial plans and budgets.
  • Direct and coordinate the forecast and planning processes to ensure schedule due dates are achieved.
  • Design and develop high-impact, visually modern executive presentations (e.g., Board presentations, quarterly business reviews, investor updates).
  • Translate complex financial information and data into clear, concise, and compelling visual stories using advanced presentation tools and techniques (e.g., PowerPoint, Tableau, Power BI, custom infographic software).
  • Focus on data visualization best practices, ensuring clarity, impact, and a consistent aesthetic that resonates with an executive audience.
  • Collaborate closely with senior leadership and cross-functional teams to understand their reporting needs and tailor presentations to specific objectives.
  • Proactively identify opportunities to enhance the visual communication of financial performance and insights.
  • Research and implement innovative presentation strategies and technologies to continuously elevate the quality and effectiveness of executive reports.
  • Conduct various high level confidential ad hoc projects and reports, liaising directly with the EG Commercial Finance Director/ Ebara Energy CFO.
