We’re looking for a highly motivatedSenior Hardware Engineer-FPGA to join our engineering team and help build the next generation of digital printing hardware. Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement FPGA-based processing and control systems for industrial inkjet printing platforms.
- Develop high-speed logic for real-time printhead control, signal processing, and image data handling.
- Work closely with electrical, software, and mechanical engineering teams to define hardware/software interfaces and performance specifications.
- Implement and optimize interfaces for high-throughput serial data communication (e.g., LVDS, PCIe, Gigabit Ethernet).
- Debug and validate FPGA designs using simulation tools (e.g., ModelSim, QuestaSim) and lab equipment (oscilloscopes, logic analyzers).
- Integrate FPGA logic with embedded processors (e.g., ARM cores in Xilinx Zynq or Intel SoCs) for control and diagnostics.
- Write and maintain test benches, documentation, and hardware validation reports.
- Support system-level integration and manufacturing test development.
- Work closely with our team in Japan by participating in online and in-person workshop sessions.
Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field.
- 3-7 years of professional experience in Digital design/FPGA design and development.
- Solid understanding of digital signal processing and real-time control systems.
- Strong proficiency in Verilog and Systemverilog.
- Experience with industry-standard FPGA toolchains (Xilinx Vivado, Intel Quartus, etc.).
- Familiarity with timing analysis, constraint definition, and hardware debugging.
- Ability to work in a cross-disciplinary environment involving software, electronics, and mechanical systems.
Preferred:
- Experience in digital printing, motion control, or industrial automation.
- Familiarity with inkjet printing systems or high-speed imaging.
- Experience designing and implementing image data pipelines on FPGAs.
- Knowledge of high-speed data protocols (e.g., Ethernet, PCIe, DDR memory interfaces).
- Familiarity with embedded Linux, device drivers, or real-time operating systems.
- Scripting and automation experience (Python, TCL, Bash).
- Experience or familiarity working with Japanese customers.
Compensation:
The salary range for this position is $160,000-$170,000 USD. Fiery considers a variety of factors when determining base compensation, including experience, qualifications, and geographic location.
