Position Summary
Hamilton-Madison House (HMH) is the leading provider of behavioral health services for New York City’s Asian community and the second largest provider in the country. HMH serves nearly 1,000 community members through a comprehensive program model that understands and incorporates the strengths of individual cultures and addresses the stigma related to mental illness. Services range from psychological services; personalized recovery-oriented services for individuals with mental illness; recovery programming for addiction in six languages and seven dialects; supportive housing for people with mental health issues; and training and internship opportunities for graduate students in social work, mental health counseling, and psychology. Our team of over 40 full-time and 16 part-time staff speak Cantonese, Mandarin, Korean, Japanese, Vietnamese, and Cambodian.
Hamilton-Madison House is seeking for a full-time Senior Mental Health Clinician/Supervisor who will be responsible for overseeing the clinical services in Behavioral Health Services programs at Chinatown Family Consultation Center of HMH. Senior Mental Health Clinician/Supervisor will collaborate closely with the Clinical Director of Behavioral Health and the Assistant Executive Director of Behavioral Health Services to manage and supervise the Master Mental Health Internship Program, oversee clinic operations, and coordinate outreach activities in addition to carrying a small caseload of direct clinical work and assist with the Quality Assurance of the Behavioral Health program.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee operations of master-level mental health internship program & maintain relationships with various educational institutions
- Provide treatment services to individuals/groups/families, develop treatment plans & evaluate treatment progress
- Provide case management to connect clients/family members to appropriate community resources & coordinate treatment efforts with various healthcare providers
- Conduct intake assessments, including screening for common mental health/substance use disorders
- Assist Program Directors in administering clinic operations/specialized projects/quality assurance for clinics
- Provide clinical/administrative supervision & workshops/training seminars to clinical staff/interns
- Participate in research projects/community education & serve as a consultant to programs within settlement house/community
- Maintain medical records documentation according to HMH/OMH/OASAS policies & procedures
Minimum Qualifications:
- Master’s degree from an accredited program in Mental Health/Psychological Counseling or a related field
- A minimum of 6 months of clinical experience in NYC community-based or nonprofit work
- Strong clinical skills in providing culturally sensitive treatment
- Proficient in conducting mental health diagnoses/assessments
- In-depth understanding of counseling theories & research methods
- Familiarity with NYS OMH policies and procedures
- New York State Mental Health Counselor License
Compensation: $66,612/year
Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 9am – 5pm,
