Young Living Essential Oils is seeking a creative Senior Storytelling & Content Marketing Strategist to bridge the gap between scientific research, sourcing excellence, brand heritage, and modern market storytelling. This role ensures that each product’s unique value proposition-rooted in sourcing, formulation, and impact-is emotionally resonant, culturally relevant, and strategically aligned across global markets. The ideal candidate will weave compelling narratives that elevate brand perception, build emotional loyalty, and drive product engagement, particularly in the APAC and EMEA regions.
Essential Functions
- Narrative Development
- Create powerful product origin stories emphasizing regional, cultural, and ingredient-specific authenticity.
- Partner with R&D, sourcing, and product teams to uncover unique differentiators (e.g., hand-harvesting, purity testing, sustainable sourcing).
- Customize storytelling to resonate with cultural values and wellness priorities across diverse global regions.
- Content Creation & Oversight
- Write or guide the development of product messaging for launches, campaign decks, and internal narratives.
- Collaborate with copywriters, designers, and video producers to create multimedia content for various formats and touchpoints.
- Contribute emotionally engaging messaging to support product training and education assets.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with global and regional marketing, brand, and digital teams to align messaging strategies and execution.
- Work closely with compliance and legal teams to ensure content remains within global and local regulatory frameworks.
- Channel Strategy Integration
- Adapt stories across marketing platforms (web, social, email, events, in-person training tools).
- Embed product narratives in Brand Partner tools and field training to drive product differentiation and relevance.
- Localization & Market Insight
- Ensure narratives reflect local consumer priorities, language, cultural nuances, and beliefs.
- Conduct qualitative research, field interviews, and insight gathering to ground storytelling in authenticity.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Excellent storytelling, narrative strategy, and editorial skills with a knack for simplifying scientific and technical information.
- Deep cultural fluency and sensitivity, especially across APAC and EMEA regions.
- Proven ability to manage cross-functional teams and collaborate across geographies.
- Strong project management skills and experience juggling multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment.
- Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite
- Digital fluency: ability to adapt stories across digital platforms (e.g., video, social, web, email).
- Passion for wellness, natural health, sustainability, and essential oils.
- Ability to work independently and thrive in a highly collaborative global team.
Preferred Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, Cultural Studies, or a related field.
- 5-8 years experience in brand storytelling, product marketing, or content strategy.
- Experience working in international marketing environments or cross-border brand storytelling.
- Experience in wellness, lifestyle, natural health, or beauty brands strongly preferred.
- Proficiency or fluency in an Asian language (e.g., Mandarin, Japanese, Korean) is a significant advantage.
Required Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent professional experience in content strategy, brand marketing, or product storytelling.
- A combination of education and experience will be considered in meeting qualifications.
Supervisory Responsibility:
This job does not have supervisory responsibilities.
Work Environment:
This job operates in a professional office environment. The role routinely uses standard office equipment such as a laptop, desktop, smartphone, and photocopiers. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Essential oils are worn and/or diffused in the work environment.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
This position requires the incumbent to be physically present at the assigned worksite. The regular schedule is from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., with an hour lunch, Monday through Friday. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand. Employees are also expected to work at least one non-convention farm event a year and to work at the annual company convention.
Exact hour requirements can be reasonably modified as necessary for the business needs by the employee’s manager.
Physical Demands:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Specific vision abilities of this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus. The employee is required to type, file, and occasionally lift office supplies up to 20 pounds. The employee must be physically able to tolerate the scent of essential oils worn or diffused.
