Position Summary: The Sr. Accountant is responsible for the preparation of financial statements and reports, recording month end accounting entries, and assisting with financial analytics, financial controls, and technical accounting matters. This position is also responsible for assisting with the internal and external audits.
Essential Job Functions:
• Responsible for the preparation of quarterly reports for Japanese parent company and additional assigned schedules and analysis.
• Assists with the preparation of monthly reports and fluctuation analysis for the parent company.
• Assists in the preparation of the annual US GAAP standalone statements and footnotes.
• Prepares closing entries for revenue to ensure accurate revenue recognition under ASC 606 (this includes contract asset, contract receivables, and deferred revenue).
• Prepares closing entries for operating leases in accordance with ASC 842.
• Responsible for preparing the consolidation of international reporting of Sweden subsidiary, adjustments to US GAAP, and other related entries and activities.
• Documents and reviews new transactions to ensure compliance with applicable accounting guidance.
• Conducts research, documents conclusions on and assists in evaluating the effects of new accounting guidance.
• Assists in developing and maintaining financial analytics, product margins, and management financial analytics.
• Assists in database management, along with the production of reports utilized in data entry and analysis.
• Assists in developing new processes and procedures, including new software and updates to existing software.
• Responsible for completing the annual required J-Sox documentation and coordination of internal audit.
• Supports the year-end audit and semi-annual review with external auditors.
• Follows all company environmental, health and safety policies, procedures, and guidelines and conducts work in a safe manner.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
Job Specifications (skills, knowledge, special training, certification, license requirements):
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP, with an understanding of IFRS
• Excellent communication and management skills
• Ability to interact with all levels of staff both inside and outside of the organization
• Ability to meet tight deadlines and multiple priorities
• High level of proficiency with Excel and Word
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Education and Work Experience Required:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting required; CPA or MBA preferred
• Minimum of 4 years of industry experience or 3 years of public accounting experience
• International accounting experience, a plus
• Experience in Oracle, a plus
