Description

We are looking for a highly motivated and detail-oriented Staff Accountant with a focus on accounts receivable and additional accounting support to join our dynamic team. This position will offer you the chance to contribute to the accounting processes of a multi-million-dollar company while supporting financial operations with a focus on accuracy, timeliness, and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:
Accounts Receivable (AR) Management:

  • Review parts accounts and liaise with sales staff to resolve aging invoices.
  • Ensure AR subledger matches the General Ledger monthly and prepare reports for submission to our Japanese parent company.
  • Handle external customer requests via email and phone, primarily from the sales team.
  • Import AR deposits for our largest customer and process daily check deposits.
  • Post customer payments from various sources and reconcile against report backup.
  • Process credit reference requests, create new customer accounts, and manage miscellaneous deposits.
  • Perform daily machine invoicing and reconcile daily machine counts.

General Accounting Support:

  • Daily posting of bank activity and maintaining up-to-date bank reconciliations for multiple accounts.
  • Prepare journal entries for recurring transactions, month-end accruals, and reconciliations as needed.
  • Provide company credit card and travel expense journal entry support and reconciliation.
  • Maintain foreign exchange balances and assist with state sales tax journal entries.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Support audit requests and provide relevant financial data.
  • Cross-train in Accounts Receivable to provide backup coverage when needed.
  • Assist with various projects and tasks as assigned by the Controller.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (Required).
  • Experience: Minimum of 3+ years in accounting or finance-related roles.

Skills:

  • Intermediate proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, etc.).
  • Experience with ERP systems.
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to prioritize effectively.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Familiarity with GAAP and month-end close processes.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to sit for long periods of time and focus on computer work.
  • Capable of lifting up to 15 pounds.
