We are a profitable, well-established regional CPA firm seeking a Tax Senior to join our growing team. Key Responsibilities:
- Review and approve complex tax returns and assist in government tax examinations.
- Manage and delegate tax preparation responsibilities, especially for larger and more complex business returns.
- Provide technical guidance and support to clients and internal staff.
- Ensure all client work is completed accurately, efficiently, and within budget.
- Actively participate in client meetings and tax planning initiatives.
- Serve as a resource for tax and A&A staff on specific technical tax matters.
- Maintain responsibility for assigned client relationships and service delivery.
- Represent clients before appropriate taxing authorities when necessary.
- Oversee the timely and accurate flow of tax returns through the preparation process.
- Contribute to firm development activities, including involvement with community and industry organizations.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Train, mentor, and develop junior staff including Supervising Seniors, Seniors, Semi-Seniors, and Staff Accountants.
- Participate in staff evaluations and tax department reviews.
- Assist in identifying training needs and delivering technical instruction to team members.
Requirements
Required Qualifications:
- 3-7 years of current public accounting experience with increasing tax complexity and scope.
- Experience with international tax consulting and compliance.
- Familiarity with U.S. domestic and international tax compliance for high-net-worth individuals, pass-through entities, and corporations.
- Knowledge of international tax topics including Subpart F, GILTI, PFIC, foreign tax credits, and income tax treaties.
- At least 1 year of experience supervising and directing tax staff.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (Master’s in Taxation preferred).
- Fluent in Japanese
Preferred Qualifications:
- CPA license (or progress toward CPA certification).
- Strong client service orientation and ability to manage multiple engagements.
- Solid understanding of technical tax issues and planning strategies.
