We are seeking a Technical Writer for a temporary assignment expected to last approximately four (4) months. The Technical Writer is responsible for the preparation and review of Standard Operating Procedures, Work Instructions, Technical Bulletins, Flow Charts and other internal and external documentation.

Essential Functions and Main Duties

  • Review, compare, and update current documentation of processes and equipment functionality/design to comply with FDA’s Code of Federal Regulations.
  • Interview SMEs and collaborate with cross-functional teams to better understand and convey technical details.
  • Perform work accurately and thoroughly.
  • Write, edit, and develop content for Standard Operating Procedures, Work Instructions, Technical Bulletins, and other internal and external documentation.
  • Collaborate with Technical Support Specialists, writers, product managers, engineers, and third-party suppliers.
  • Coordinate multiple documentation reviews with Technical Support, Marketing, Engineering, Quality Assurance, and Regulatory Affairs departments.
  • Route documents to the document control system by following quality assurance protocols.
  • Edit and proofread documentation to ensure that it meets industry and grammatical standards for quality, format, and style.
  • Adheres to all company policies, procedures, and business ethics codes.
  • Duties may be modified or assigned at any time based on business need.

Qualifications

Education / Certification / Experience Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in English or related discipline; relevant education and experience accepted in lieu of degree
  • 4+ years of experience in technical writing
  • Proficient with Visio, Microsoft Office Word, Excel, SnagIt
  • Working knowledge of ISO 9000, ISO 13485:2016, and FDA 21 CFR Part 820
  • Skilled in Information Mapping, style guide usage, and the creation of flow charts
  • Exposure to Japanese Sarbanes-Oxley, MindTouch, Patient Monitoring, Sleep Assessment, Neurology, and/or Cardiology terminology
  • Level and compensation depend on location, experience, education and skills

  • Excellent interpersonal relationships
  • Skilled at managing multiple projects simultaneously
  • Must be able to communicate verbally and in writing, and to receive and understand verbal and written instructions in English
  • Able to work effectively both independently and in a collaborative team environment

Compensation

The anticipated range for this position is $20.00/hr to $24.00/hr. Actual placement within the range is dependent on multiple factors, including but not limited to skills, education, experience and location.

Working Conditions

Schedule: The regular hours for this full-time temp position are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday-Friday, unless otherwise stated by the department manager. Holiday, weekend, and evening work hours may be required. Regular hours may vary due to the needs of the organization or department and are subject to change at any time at the Company’s discretion.

Physical: Generally, may require some reaching, bending, stooping, squatting, crawling, kneeling, pushing, pulling, lifting, carrying up to 50 pounds, finger dexterity, repetitive motions, standing, walking, sitting, hearing, visual acuity, and color vision. More specific details may be provided as needed or requested.
