What you’ll be doing as a Tiltrotor Flight Instructor
We are seeking V-22 Tilt Rotor / Power Lift Flight Instructors to support our Japan Foreign Military Sales Program. Flight Instructors are based at MCAS New River, North Carolina to maintain currency and proficiency with USMC squadrons and then rotate to Japan to provide flight instruction to Japanese Ground Self-Defense Force (JGSDF) pilots. Flight Instructors provide instruction on V-22 aircraft systems, planning considerations, and flight operations via training in the classroom, simulator, and aircraft. Domestic and international travel is required for providing academics, flight training, and logistical support to our global customer base.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing flight, simulator, and ground instruction to the JGSDF while also assisting with doctrine development
- Maintaining currency and proficiency while embedded in USMC V-22 squadrons
- Following flight safety, course rules, and range regulation procedures
- Being in compliance with applicable Aviation Authorities
- Traveling domestically and internationally as required
- Working shifts outside of 8 AM – 5 PM schedule as required per flight schedules
Skills You Bring To this Role
Current and qualified V-22 Pilot with the following USMC designations:
Tilt Rotor Aircraft Commander (TAC)
Section Leader
Functional Check Pilot (FCP)
Basic Instructor Pilot (BIP)
Low Altitude Tactics Instructor (LATI)
Crew Resource Management Facilitator
Minimum total flight time: 1000 hours
Minimum V-22 time: 750 hours
Current NASTP qualification for V-22
Current Secret clearance
Current 2nd Class FAA medical certificate
