UI/UX and Graphics Design Engineer

Summary:

We at Global Human Capital Division digitize all aspects of HR activities. We support, maintain and on-board new Hitachi companies into the global HRMS platform. We look at the process improvements, automation of existing and manual activities that are conducted by team in HR department of various Hitachi companies. We identify ways to improve employee experience and productivity. We have expertise in other tools like SharePoint, Power Apps, Power Automate and built AI bot using Microsoft CoPilot studio.

We are looking for a UI/UX and graphic design engineer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be expected to create strong visual representations and design to promote the technical solutions in HR domain in a way that appeals to a broader audience. You’ll get a chance to engage, interact with HR people and tools. You will use your visual design expertise to recommend changes to UI/UX of various applications/tools that are used to digitize HR processes and information flow. This position is a perfect match for a motivated designer who is passionate about empowering society through the tremendous potential of digital transformation in industries.

Responsibilities:

UI/UX analysis

  • Provide targeted recommendations to improve visual appeal and user experience
  • Create a more intuitive and aesthetically refined interface that subtly supports increased engagement and productivity.
  • Project will include: Japan Mass upload, Compensation range and HiNext (Solution/Pages in scope)

Work Transformation

  • Design and deliver intuitive UI/UX and branding assets to support Work transformation initiatives. This includes creating user-centric pages on Hitachi Connect, visual identity elements, and communication templates that align with group HR strategy
  • Projects will include: Branding assets for WX program, WX page on Hitachi Connect, and PowerPoint template for WX program and GST team communication.

Make a Difference (MaD) and AI in DHR

  • Help with Make a Difference launch campaign and creating branding assets
  • Create training material and branding of AI solutions
  • Support Improved Engagement: Drive higher participation and emotional connection through compelling design and storytelling.
  • Scalable Asset Toolkit: Provide reusable templates and visuals for future communications and regional adaptations

Qualifications:

  • Candidate must be currently enrolled in their bachelor’s degree for Design, Fine Arts or a related field to be qualified as an intern, if not then it will be treated as a contractor.
  • Experience with concept art and logo design.
  • Experience in Design tools that help create sensational graphics using open-source tools.
  • Prior experience working related UI/UX designing/Improvements is a plus.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Must be willing/able to work from Santa Clara office 1 day/week.
