TMA Shōrai Program Overview:

Commencing in January 2026, TMA’s Shōrai Program is a unique development program that aims to build functional experts in the areas of Property and Casualty Loss Control and Underwriting. Over the course of three (3) years, participants will move through a customized, rigorous and performance-focused schedule which includes a rotation to another TMA branch office within the U.S. at the half-way point of the program, providing an opportunity to develop their personal network and gain a deeper understanding of TMA’s culture and business.

Our goal is to grow our own talent by providing participants with hands on working knowledge of key roles, targeted mentorship, appropriate designations/licenses and support to grow into future leaders within the company.

Job Summary:

As a participant in the Shōrai Program, you will be expected to apply both creative and analytical thinking, demonstrate effective problem-solving skills, and make informed decisions utilizing the technical expertise gained during the program. Comprehensive on-the-job training will be provided by our highly experienced underwriters and functional leaders across the organization. The three-year educational and developmental framework of the program also offers an excellent opportunity to launch your career.

Participants will gain exposure to key areas including Corporate Underwriting, the Global Business Unit (GBU), and Highly Protected Risk (HPR) departments. Beyond daily responsibilities, there will be customized short- and long-term development plans, designed to deepen your underwriting knowledge through industry-recognized coursework and certifications.

To ensure thorough integration into TMA’s customer-focused culture and to provide insight into essential roles within the Underwriting unit, participants will complete a rotation to another TMA branch office at the midpoint of the program. This experience will facilitate relationship-building with colleagues and contribute to expanding your understanding of TMA’s operations.

Upon successful completion of the program, participants will receive placement offers aligned with the evolving business needs of TMA.
