The Facilities Assistant plays a vital role in ensuring the seamless setup of private dining rooms (PDRs) for events and providing essential maintenance support for the restaurant. This dynamic position involves performing walk-through assessments, conducting basic repairs, completing general maintenance tasks, assisting with various installations, receiving and storing all food and beverage related items as needed. The Facilities Assistant is also responsible for ensuring compliance with workplace health and safety regulations.

Main Duties

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Perform walk-through assessments and plan logistics for daily and weekly setups of private dining rooms (PDRs)
  • Coordinate service with PDR staff to ensure smooth execution of events
  • Perform basic repairs and general maintenance work around the building
  • Move heavy furniture as required for events and maintenance tasks
  • Assist tradespeople with electrical, plumbing, and HVAC repair work as needed
  • Paint surfaces and apply stain as required to maintain the aesthetic appeal of the establishment
  • Take on additional installation, repair, and maintenance duties as assigned and legally permitted

What We Look For

  • Previous experience in facilities maintenance or related fields
  • Basic knowledge of repair and maintenance techniques, including carpentry, painting, and plumbing
  • Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physically demanding tasks
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as required
