Plant Manager – Just-In-Time Seat Manufacturing

Location: New Castle, IN
Reports To: Plant President
Direct Reports: All Department Managers
About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and driven Plant Manager to lead all aspects of operations at our Just-In-Time (J.I.T.) Japanese seat manufacturing facility. This position is responsible for ensuring efficient production, top-tier quality, safety compliance, and operational excellence across all departments. The Plant Manager will oversee all Department Managers and play a key role in shaping the plant’s strategy, culture, and performance to meet both customer and business objectives.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead all plant operations, overseeing department managers to ensure performance, quality, cost, and safety goals are achieved.
  • Plan, direct, and coordinate the work activities and resources required for efficient production.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on efficiency, safety, and quality.
  • Manage budgets, control expenditures, and ensure financial accountability.
  • Review production schedules and resource planning to ensure customer delivery requirements are consistently met.
  • Identify and resolve issues impacting production such as staffing, equipment, and workflow challenges.
  • Establish policies, procedures, and standards to support company goals and compliance requirements.
  • Provide coaching, development, and performance reviews for department managers.
  • Lead 5S, TPM, and Kaizen programs to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Ensure a safe working environment and compliance with all company and regulatory safety standards.
  • Maintain a consistent on-site presence to provide leadership, collaboration, and direct supervision.
  • Participate in Management Review and ISO meetings and utilize customer-specific portals and databases as required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

What You’ll Bring

  • Strong understanding of all aspects of a J.I.T. seat manufacturing operation.
  • Proven leadership experience in a manufacturing environment, managing multiple departments.
  • Excellent written, verbal, organizational, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Previous seat assembly and supervisory experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage plant budgets, drive productivity, and meet key performance objectives.
  • Commitment to safety, quality, and operational excellence.
