This is a part-time role at our International Drive location; prior host/hostess experience is highly preferred.

Position Title: Host/Greeter

Kobe Ichiban Japanese Steakhouse is seeking exceptional candidates to join our service team. The host plays a vital role in delivering a warm and welcoming introduction to guests upon their arrival at Kobe.

As a Host, you will play a key role in providing excellent customer service. The position requires a friendly, professional demeanor and the ability to handle guest interactions efficiently while maintaining a welcoming atmosphere.

Key Responsibilities (but are not limited to):

• Greet and welcome all guests with a smile and Japanese mannerisms
• Answer phone promptly and professionally while addressing inquiries.
• Coordinate seating arrangements based on guest preferences, table rotation, and party size.
• Assist with seating customers, including setting up seating arrangements, menus, and providing high chairs or boosters as requested.
• Communicate accurate wait times, explain teppanyaki and traditional dining options, and offer menu recommendations or promotions.
• Handle guest concerns courteously and inform management if necessary.
• Keep the host station clean, organized, and stocked with sanitized menus and materials.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Demonstrate integrity, respect, hard work, teamwork, and a positive attitude values
• Experience with OpenTable is a plus
• Must have excellent communication and strong organizational skills
• Ability to work collaboratively as a team
• Availability to work evenings, weekends, and some holidays preferred.
• Must be able to continuously walk and stand for an extended period of time
• Must maintain good hygiene and a professional appearance
• Ability to work effectively under pressure
