Siris Hospitality’s new concept restaurant, Okonomiyaki Jibanya, is looking for an experienced sushi chef to join the team! We currently serve traditional Osaka style and Hiroshima style okonomiyaki to Seattle foodies, with an emphasis on quality and hospitality. But what if guests could delve even deeper into Japanese culture and cuisine? That is where you will come in. You will lead and manage a second concept within our restaurant, serving premium uni/otoro/wagyu bowls.

Key Responsibilties

• Utilize expertise and creative thinking skills to create an appetizing menu that follows the premium sushi bowl concept, highlighting extensive knowledge of Japanese cuisine
• Showcase excellent knifework and plating skills
• Ability to inspect various fish, meats, and vegetables to make sure quality standards are being met
• Maintain a clean and organized working environment to prevent food contamination
• Have strong verbal communication skills to be able to collaborate with teammates and maintain a positive working environment
• Employ time management skills to ensure prep work is completed in time for service, and that customers are served in an efficient manner
• Ability to work well under pressure

Qualifications

Sushi chef with several years of experience in the field preferred. Basic Japanese skills and English skills preferred. Washington State Food Worker Card required within 14 days of hire, and MAST permit required within 60 days of hire.

Pay

Base wage ($40/hr) + tips ($10-$15/hr), averaging $40-$55 an hour.

Hours

Prep: Wednesday-Sunday (starting at 11am-12pm to service time)

Service: Wednesday-Sunday (4:30pm to close, around 10pm) at Okonomiyaki Jibanya.
