Think Hospitality now hiring a General Manager for our vibrant Japanese restaurant and sushi bar located in Miami Beach. We proudly offer traditional Sushi & Sashimi as well as entrees from our hot kitchen.
Position Overview
The General Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of restaurant operations, ensuring exceptional guest experiences, maintaining high food quality and service standards, managing staff performance, and achieving financial goals. The General Manager leads the team in delivering authentic Asian dining experiences while ensuring compliance with company policies and health regulations.
Key Responsibilities
Operations Management
- Oversee daily restaurant operations, including dining room, kitchen, takeout, and delivery services.
- Ensure food quality, presentation, and service standards meet company expectations.
- Monitor restaurant cleanliness, safety, and sanitation standards.
- Resolve customer concerns promptly and professionally.
- Maintain compliance with local health, safety, and labor regulations.
Team Leadership
- Recruit, hire, train, and develop restaurant employees.
- Schedule staff effectively to meet business demands.
- Conduct performance evaluations and provide coaching.
- Foster a positive, team-oriented work environment.
- Ensure employees follow company policies and procedures.
Financial Management
- Manage restaurant budgets, sales targets, and profitability.
- Monitor food, beverage, and labor costs.
- Analyze sales reports and implement strategies to improve revenue.
- Control inventory and minimize waste.
- Approve invoices, payroll, and purchasing activities.
Customer Service
- Ensure guests receive outstanding service and hospitality.
- Build strong customer relationships and encourage repeat business.
- Handle guest feedback, complaints, and special requests.
- Promote a welcoming and culturally authentic dining atmosphere.
Inventory & Supply Management
- Manage ordering of food, beverages, and restaurant supplies.
- Maintain appropriate inventory levels.
- Work with suppliers to ensure quality products and competitive pricing.
- Monitor stock rotation and food safety procedures.
Marketing & Business Development
- Support local marketing and promotional activities.
- Assist in developing strategies to increase sales and customer traffic.
- Monitor online reviews and social media feedback.
- Participate in community events and partnership opportunities.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
- Minimum 3-5 years of restaurant management experience; Asian cuisine experience preferred.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent customer service and communication abilities.
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations.
- Experience with restaurant POS systems, scheduling, and inventory management software.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
