Summary
As a member of Global Mobility Regional Leadership, the Americas Global Mobility and Immigration Manager is responsible for executing an effective and efficient end-to-end mobility administration and operations. They will partner with internal and external stakeholders to ensure seamless execution of the expatriate experience.
Job Responsibilities:
- Oversee mobility operational activities for the region including but not limited to everyday responsibilities of assignment management, immigration support, invoicing and cross-charging, APro operations management.
- Support implementation of mobility initiatives including but not limited onboarding new shared services companies, vendors, services, policies, and processes.
- Serve as escalation point and mobility resource for mobility operations and administration.
- Ensure high quality services are rendered in a consistent and timely manner by internal mobility teams and external providers.
- Partner closely with internal and external vendors, internal stakeholders (e.g. Shared Services teams, Global Total Rewards colleagues, Hitachi Managed Partners, Payrolls, HR Business Partners) to deliver the best mobility experience.
- Approve payroll instructions, vendor invoices, internal cross-charges, etc. as required.
- Provide direction and guidance in support of assignment management.
- Administer and ensure compliance with Hitachi policies, immigration laws, tax regulations, and other relevant compliance requirements as needed. Seek further direction from Mobility management when necessary.
- Responsible for completeness and accuracy of mobility information used for compliance and reporting (including systems like AssignmentPro and HiNext, payroll, expenses/reimbursements, cross-charging, etc.); update and correct information as needed.
- Stay connected with stakeholders to understand their mobility needs, review assignment policies and processes to assess whether they meet business needs. Formulate and present recommendations accordingly.
- Support change management plans to stakeholders as needed to communicate policy, process, vendor, and other changes.
- Collaborate closely with Mobility Program Management and Compliance colleagues to optimize policies, vendors, systems, and processes.
- Drive continuous process improvement and assignee experience.
Requirements:
- At least 7 years of experience administering or overseeing end-to-end mobility services.
- Knowledgeable of assignee end-to-end life cycle management.
- Deep understanding of global mobility vendors and processes including expense management and cross-charging.
- Working knowledge of assignee tax and immigration.
- Ability to work cross-functionally and effectively in ambiguous and uncertain environments.
- Ability to adapt and manage unexpected events.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills, and ability to prioritize activities.
- Must be self-motivated and proactively lead operational excellence.
- Ability to work with little supervision.
- Ability to manage sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
- Mentor and coach team members.
- Strong interpersonal skills and project management skills.
- Excellent communication skills and team spirit.
- Comfortable working onsite at least 2-3 days per week.

For California only (as required by California’s Pay Transparency for Pay Equity Act (SB 1162): The expected salary for this position in our California office is $114,965 – $143,706. Pay is determined based on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, depth of experience in the practice area. Employees are eligible to participate in Hitachi America’s variable pay program, subject to the program’s conditions and restrictions.
