Job Summary
We are looking for a reliable and detail-oriented Central Kitchen Cook to join our team. This role is essential to our daily food production operations, ensuring consistency, quality, and efficiency across all locations. The ideal candidate has hands-on kitchen experience and a basic foundation in butchery, including cutting and portioning meats such as fish and chicken.

What you’ll do:

  • Execute daily food production according to standardized recipes and production plans
  • Perform basic butchery tasks, including cutting, trimming, and portioning meats
  • Ensure proper handling, storage, and labeling of all food products in compliance with food safety standards
  • Maintain consistency in quality, portioning, and presentation
  • Assist with food preparation and packaging for distribution to restaurant locations
  • Follow production schedules and adjust workflow to meet deadlines
  • Monitor product freshness and report quality concerns
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations and kitchen equipment
  • Assist with receiving, inspecting, and storing deliveries
  • Support inventory control by minimizing waste
  • Work collaboratively with team members and leadership
  • Follow all company policies, safety procedures, and HACCP guidelines

Qualifications

  • Food Handler Certification required
  • Preferred: 2 years of Central Kitchen experience or 3 years as a restaurant cook
  • Basic butchery skills required (cutting and handling meats such as fish and chicken)
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards (HACCP a plus)
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow recipes and procedures
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
  • Good organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Culinary training is a plus but not required
  • High School Diploma or GED preferred
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand and move for extended periods
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and push carts when needed
  • Ability to bend, stoop, squat, and perform repetitive tasks
  • Comfortable working in varying temperatures (hot and cold environments)
  • Manual dexterity to safely handle knives and kitchen equipment
  • Work Environment
  • Fast-paced, high-volume central kitchen
  • May include open kitchen areas with visibility to customers and team members
  • Indoor and occasional outdoor conditions
