About Micron in Washington, DC Metro Area: Micron has two offices in the DC Metro Area. The downtown office is near Union Station (25 Massachusetts Avenue NW) and in a building with other technology companies, including Google. The downtown office includes colleagues from the global public affairs team. Free indoor parking, lunch three days a week, and a gym is available to employees. An hour away, in Manassas, VA we have a Micron manufacturing site with 1300 employees, subsidized cafeteria, and gym, among other benefits. There is flexibility to be based at either site.
This position reports to the Global Head of Social Impact and Community Engagement and Executive Director of Micron Foundation, based in Washington, DC.
Overview of Responsibilities:
- Social Impact Measurement: establish and manage the function.
- Budget and Operations: manage and oversee the portfolio of person who manages budgets for operating expenses, grantmaking, and sponsorships. Oversight includes an annual audit and quarterly tax filings
- Manage a team of four (4) and oversee the portfolio of the Global Communications Lead, Employee Giving and Volunteering Global Lead, Grant, Sponsorships, and Payment Processing.
- Operations: set and drive the team’s rhythm of business, including monthly all-hands, team learning, and periodic off-sites. Supervise the system and processes for corporate in-kind contributions of equipment and products.
- Governance, Compliance, and Policy: Serve as secretary of the Micron Foundation board and observer on the investment and audit committees. Oversee the maintenance of the corporate policy on Micron financial and in-kind contributions to nonprofits, schools, universities, and governments.
- Corporate Collaboration: practice a shared value approach to corporate philanthropy and collaborate with other business units and teams, including those leading communications, marketing, government relations, sustainability, culture, talent acquisition, university relations, and wellbeing.
- Representation: Represent Micron at community events and might serve among local spokesperson for media engagement related to our social impact and community engagement work.
- Team: Might have other responsibilities on the team such as serving as a liaison to specific ERGs (employee resource groups), industry associations, other teams and business units.
Required Qualifications: This is a skills-based hire and does not require specific degrees.
- 20+ years of experience related to social impact, especially corporate social responsibility.
- 15+ years of experience in impact measurement, evaluation, and learning.
- 10+ years and proven record of management and ability to effectively lead and manage a team, especially remotely.
Competitive Qualifications:
- Business, international development, development economics, evaluation, data science, or finance skills
- Understanding and knowledge of fundamental ESG and impact frameworks, principles, conventions, regulatory regimes
- Track record of impact demonstrated throughout a career spanning the private, financial, nonprofit and public sectors.
- Experience with working in STEM education, job readiness, and workforce development.
- Strong digital literacy, especially AI.
- Impeccable written, presentation, and oral communication skills in English and ideally in a second language (Spanish, Mandarin, Japanese)
- Established network in social impact evaluation or data for good.
- Ability to work with limited supervision and direction and thrive in a rapidly changing, fast-paced, high-growth, complex, and results-oriented corporate environment, where a high degree of flexibility and tolerance of ambiguity is required.
- Ability to navigate in a multi-cultural environment and work across time zones.
- Superior interpersonal skills, builds and maintains strong relationships/credibility with internal and external stakeholders.
- Strong self-guided work ethic and excellent ability to multitask, think independently, and maintain attention to detail, with a flexible and empathetic responsiveness to the needs of others.

The US base salary range that Micron Technology estimates it could pay for this full-time position is:
$168,000.00 – $294,000.00
Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries of the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional job-related factors, including knowledge, skills, experience, tenure and relevant education or training. The pay scale is subject to change depending on business needs. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process. Additional compensation may include benefits, discretionary bonuses and equity.
