The Director of IT will oversee all technology-related functions for the U.S. organization, driving efficiency and innovation. The Director of IT will focus on optimizing IT systems while supporting JSR Micro’s continuing transformation. This role will be instrumental in determining how to utilize various technologies to increase profits, improve communications, and better partner with internal and external stakeholders. This position will also maintain cybersecurity responsibilities to assess and mitigate risk, manage crises and incidents, maintain continuity of operations, and safeguard the organization.
This role will be in person in Sunnyvale, California
What You’ll Do:
- Cybersecurity & Risk Management: Establish and maintain robust cybersecurity protocols to safeguard company data and systems against evolving threats both internally and externally
- IT Infrastructure and Operations: Design and regularly test comprehensive disaster recovery and business continuity plans ensuring 24×7 availability of critical IT infrastructure components including network, compute, and storage resources.
- Oversee system implementation projects, offering strategic direction to IT teams and cross-functional stakeholders to align technology solutions with business needs.
- Evaluate, approve, and optimize technology investments and software acquisitions while fostering strategic vendor partnerships to drive business value.
- Direct the management of technological infrastructure ensuring optimal performance, scalability, and reliability to support the company’s sales, logistics, and distribution operations.
- Leadership and Collaboration: Engage with internal and external stakeholders, collaborating closely with business leaders to understand operational needs and develop targeted technology solutions.
- Cultivate a high-performing IT team, setting clear goals, fostering professional growth, and aligning efforts with organizational objectives
- Budget Management: Develop and manage IT budgets, conducting in-depth cost-benefit analyses to guide executive decision-making and prioritize investments.
- Ensure Regulatory Compliance: Proactively preparing for customer audits and inspections while maintaining IT systems that meet industry standards and legal requirements.
- Vendor Management: Establish and manage vendor relationships, overseeing contract negotiations, performance monitoring, and service delivery to maximize operational efficiency.
What you Bring:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, Business Management, or a related field (Master’s or MBA preferred).
- Cultural Expertise: Prior experience working in a Japan-headquartered company, with deep understanding of Japanese business culture and practices.
- Leadership Experience: At least 15 years of experience managing cross-functional technology teams supporting sales, logistics, and distribution operations.
- Industry Knowledge: Semiconductor industry experience preferred, with familiarity in ERP systems designed for manufacturing environments.
- Data-Driven Decision Making: Expertise in data analytics to support the company’s transition to a sales, logistics, and distribution-driven model.
- Business Transformation: Proven experience leading teams through significant business model transformations with minimal disruption to operations.
- IT Strategy & Optimization: Experience implementing technology solutions that streamline operations and enhance business performance metrics.
- Legacy & Emerging Technology Balance: Experience balancing legacy system optimization with strategic technology adoption to support changing business models
- Change Management: Demonstrated ability to lead organizational change management while maintaining operational continuity
- ERP & SAP Expertise: Strong preference for candidates with SAP implementation and optimization experience.
- IT Governance & Compliance: Knowledge of IT governance frameworks, particularly ITIL, and experience applying them to enhance service delivery
- Process Improvement: Background in process improvement methodologies (e.g., Six Sigma, Lean) with practical application in IT operations.
- Regulatory Compliance: Experience with compliance requirements relevant to the semiconductor or related industries.

Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location.
(Salary Range – $200,000/yr to $260,000/yr)
