Job Summary:
As a Regional Customer Account Manager, you must lead and develop our customer relationships and strategy for the Americas region. This key role is responsible for driving growth and profitability by building deep customer intimacy, translating market trends into strategic plans, and leading a high-performing team. The ideal candidate will be a proactive leader who can manage complex projects, foster a collaborative team environment, and serve as the voice of the customer within our organization.
Job Responsibilities:
Develop customer intimacy
- Identify decision-making process at the customer & channel of decision
- Establish customer intimacy in all departments as needed (Engineering, quality, Purchasing)
- Visit customers at site / region level in accordance with the company targets
- Develop high level relationships in order to anticipate customers’ needs
- Maintain good customer’ relationships when a customer’s crisis happens
- Act within the Business Unit as the voice of the customer
Develop & implement customer strategy
- Based on automotive mega trends, propose & define & implement customer strategy in order to meet the company targets in terms of growth & profitability (5 years outlook & Annual Operating Plan)
- Define customer approach on a regional basis when appropriate and in support of global strategy
- Prepare & develop business case in accordance with the company strategy in terms of growth & profitability
- Translate the customer’s needs into pre-selling activities
- Promote innovative solutions and sell products to customers
Lead the customer line organization
- Build a Regional CLM team able to reach the company targets in each area of responsibility (Engineering, Sales, and project management)
- Optimize pool of resources in accordance with budget targets & resource allocation
- Develop & assess team reporting to the RCLM
- Supervises customers’ projects in terms of costs, quality & delivery. (gate review, resource allocation, arbitration when needed)
Team Management
- Foster a climate of teamwork and motivation within the team by encouraging an entrepreneurship mindset, professional development, and growth of employees (assessment, training, coaching, and mentoring)
- Ensure the deployment of the company communication to the team
- Ensure an appropriate work environment for the team
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- A strong understanding of the automotive market, manufacturing processes, and technical aspects of our products.
- The ability to develop and execute a regional customer strategy to meet business goals.
- Excellent customer focus and a proven ability to work in a multicultural environment.
- Solid financial acumen for developing business cases and managing profitability.
- Proven leadership experience guiding a cross-functional team, including engineering, sales, and project management.
- Fluency in English is required, with intermediate proficiency in Japanese and Spanish preferred.
- Excellent analytical and communication skills.
- Well-organized, inquisitive, and independent.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining strict attention to detail.
- Efficient knowledge in Word, Excel, PPT, Outlook, SAP, etc.
Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in engineering, Business studies, or related field
Minimum Experience: At least 10 years of experience in the Automotive industry at the Tier 1 level. Experience with Japanese OEMs is preferred
Supervisory Responsibilities: N/A
Travel: Domestic and international may be required as needed. The candidate will occasionally need to travel to multiple global locations to support project development
Physical Requirements: Required to sit or stand for long periods of time. The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Ability to work 40 – 60 hours per week.
Work Environment: Working in an office environment with exposure to manufacturing areas.
