We are seeking a customer-focused Retail Associate to join our Japanese grocery, coffee, and sushi shop. This unique position offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic environment that blends specialty Japanese groceries, artisan coffee, and made-to-order sushi. Key Responsibilities:

• Greet customers and provide product knowledge on Japanese groceries, snacks, and beverages
• Operate the cash register, process transactions, and handle returns or exchanges professionally
• Restock shelves, maintain product displays, and monitor inventory levels
• Assist with packaging takeout sushi and coffee orders accurately and efficiently
• Maintain cleanliness and organization in the retail, coffee, and sushi prep areas
• Communicate effectively with sushi chefs, baristas, and team members to ensure smooth workflow
• Ensure compliance with food safety and hygiene standards
• Educate customers on daily specials, product origins, and preparation tips

Qualifications:

• Prior experience in retail, grocery, or food service is preferred but not required
• Interest in Japanese food, ingredients, and culture
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
• Must be able to stand for extended periods and lift up to 30 lbs
