Opening this Fall, Mottai Miami is a modern Japanese restaurant in the heart of Coral Gables.

We are seeking experienced and skilled Sous Chefs to lead the daily culinary operations of our upscale restaurant. This is a key leadership role that blends operational excellence with technical precision and creativity. You’ll be responsible for executing dishes to the highest standards, developing a high-performing team, and ensuring every detail reflects the quality of our brand.

Who We’re Looking For

  • Minimum 2 years in a management kitchen role in an upscale establishment
  • Experience balancing high-volume production with fine dining presentation and technique
  • Strong leadership and communication skills in English
  • Calm, organized, and detail-oriented under pressure
  • Proficiency in modern kitchen systems, inventory control, and prep management
  • Knowledge of Japanese cuisine is preferred; familiarity with Asian ingredients is a plus
  • Culinary degree or formal training is a plus
  • Working knowledge of Spanish or another language is a plus
