Purpose
The Takibi General Manager provides strategic leadership for Snow Peak hospitality operations, driving restaurant profitability, market relevance, and brand expression. This role oversees the development of service standards, team leadership, and guest experience while coordinating daily operational execution with the Assistant General Manager and Kitchen Manager. Success in this role means leading Takibi to become a best-in-class restaurant and community destination aligned with Snow Peak’s strategic goals.
Classification
• FLSA: Salaried, exempt
• Status: Full Time, Benefit Eligible
• Reports To: CEO of Snow Peak Hospitality; dotted line to Global GM of Snow Peak Restaurants
• Schedule: 5 days per week. Takibi operates seven days a week, schedule will vary
• Salary: $65,000 – $85,000 DOE
Essential Duties
Lead Department Strategy
o Serve as the P&L owner for the Takibi business unit, accountable for meeting financial targets, managing expenses, and optimizing resource allocation in alignment with strategic goals.
o Work with the Executive team to design and implement long-term objectives aligned with Snow Peak’s mission and hospitality goals.
o Own departmental budget and profitability metrics; analyze and improve business processes to drive growth.
o Lead hospitality strategy, including guest experience standards, service model evolution, and restaurant identity.
o Present regular operational, cultural, and financial updates to executive leadership.
o Build mechanisms to align restaurant objectives with broader interdepartmental goals across Snow Peak.
Manage Restaurant Operations
o Lead restaurant operations through both strategic oversight and active participation in key moments of service. Delegating routine execution to the AGM and Kitchen Manager while remaining visible and engaged on the floor when needed.
o Set standards for hospitality excellence and resolve escalated service issues as needed.
o Ensure all key operational processes are supported by clear, consistent Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and regularly audit for compliance, clarity, and relevance.
o Establish a culture of consistency, professionalism, and accountability across all areas of the restaurant.
o Ensure safety, sanitation, and compliance practices meet health and legal regulations.
o Monitor and manage cost of goods sold (COGS) and labor costs to ensure alignment with budgetary goals and operational targets.
Build and Lead High-Performing Team
o Cultivate an inclusive and equitable workplace culture rooted in respect, curiosity, and hospitality.
o In partnership with HR, lead hiring, onboarding, and performance management for the full restaurant team.
o Lead regular meetings with FOH and BOH leadership to align on operational goals, team dynamics, and guest experience.
o Facilitate all-staff meetings and trainings to reinforce standards, culture, and communication.
o Mentor and coach restaurant leaders; foster internal mobility and team development.
o Maintain working knowledge of labor law and ensure compliance in scheduling, compensation, and staffing structures.
o Develop workforce plans and staffing models to meet evolving business needs.
Strategic Programming and Brand Activation
o Lead Takibi’s event programming and special initiatives that drive traffic and brand visibility.
o Ensure guest-facing experiences align with Snow Peak’s values and elevate the restaurant’s reputation in the local market.
o Partner with brand, and project teams to integrate restaurant strategy with brand activations.

Requirements
• Education/Certifications
o High school diploma
• Experience
o 7 years of restaurant, 5 years of management experience
• Skills
o Extensive knowledge of and passion for Japanese food and beverage
o Proficient understanding of Microsoft Office Suite
o Proficient knowledge of compliance related laws and regulations
o Proficient understanding of training in food safety
o Proficient writing and documentation experience with demonstrated success in the use of written personnel performance management tools
o Proficient expertise in Excel and performance analysis and reporting
o Advanced understanding of the financial and business acumen to drive profitability
o Professional working fluency in Japanese (preferred)
• Abilities
o Ability to mentor, coach and develop other leaders and build high functioning teams
o Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality
o Ability to operate POS (point of sale) systems, back-of-house systems and restaurant operating systems
o Excellent leadership and management skills with ability to motivate
o Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills
o Superior time management skills with a proven ability to efficiently manage multiple, concurrent, time-sensitive projects and priorities
o Superior problem-solving abilities to meet ambiguous and multicultural needs
o Extremely organized with meticulous attention to detail
• Physical Effort
- Lift and move up to 50 pounds
- Stand and walk for an 8-10 hour shift, including moving safely through all areas of the restaurant, which may include stairs, uneven and slick surfaces
- Ability to bear exposure to hot and cold environments
